I think we all know the Sounds will likely need quite a few runs tonight. Here's hoping,

obviously 🤞🏻, but I don't have a lot of faith in where Priester has been at.

Come on Joseph are you saying that the 5 IP/75 pitches that the beat reporters say the Brewers are looking to get from Priester tonight isn't realistic?

Luis Lara has made big strides in his batted ball quality in May. The first picture is his radial chart in April. the second is his radial chart in May. Feel like these do a really good job of showing the better angles Lara his hit the ball at this month. The concentration of pop ups and negative LA ground balls are both much smaller.

Here are his expected numbers on contact in April and May

April - .251 xBA, .399 xSLG, .279 xwOBA

May - .334 xBA, .454 xSLG, .340 xwOBA

I feel like this also illustrates why Avg LA is a pretty flawed stat. Lara has the same Avg LA in May that he did in April. In May he has 18 of 50 batted balls between 8 and 32 LA (sweet spot) which is 36% of his batted balls. In April he had 20 of 88 batted balls between 8 and 32 LA which is 23%. For some clarity on what those numbers mean, 36% would be 68th percentile in MLB and 23% would be 2nd percentile in MLB

LHP JD Thompson seeks his first career MILB Win (in his 4th start; 9 IP, 6 R, 11 Ks thru 3 games) which would give High-A Wisconsin a 2-1 series lead at Great Lakes. Marco Dinges hasn’t played catcher since exiting the May 5th contest early (9th straight as DH).

The AAA Sounds shoot for a 10th consecutive victory, this time at Durham and with rehabbing, struggling RHP Quinn Priester getting the start (1.1 IP, 7 R, 2 Ks in Saturday outing for Wisconsin). 21-year old CF Luis Lara has 9 three-hit games in just 45 games played.

6’6” LHP Andrew Healy strives to extend his 3-game roll (9 IP, 2 R, 15 Ks) and lead Low-A Wilson to a 2-1 home series over Delmarva. 2B Juan Ortuno and RF Pedro Ibarguen have 13-game on-base streaks.

Just wondering, do you know where his pitch counts have been at in his previous rehabs?

SS Jesus Made (8 hits, 9 RBIs over last 4 games) and AA Biloxi can grab a 3-0 home series lead over Birmingham tonight. RHP Brett Wichrowski (6.94 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 9.9 K/9 in 36.1 IP) needs a breakthrough.

29, 45, 62 pitches in his first rehab stint. He went 47 pitches in his first start of the second rehab stint. I think the 5 innings is the more unrealistic part than the pitch count. The stuff and command just hasn't been anywhere near good enough to pitch through 5 innings even against minor league talent.

Well good news and bad news. Good news is today has been the best Priester has looked so far on his rehab journey in terms of stuff and command. The bad news is his velo is still down 1-2 ticks from where it was a year ago and he's thrown 18 strikes and 17 balls through 2 innings.

Things unraveled in the third………just doesn’t have anything

Yeah unfortunately still looks like a guy that doesn’t belong anymore near a big league mound any time soon

Got to be a horrible feeling to keep showing up to minor league teams on rehab and bombing the game for them.  But that much worse when they've won 9 in a row.

Not on the main (Statcast) field against the Cubs today (apparently there’s a HS game on it lol) but a little birdie told me there were EV’s of 109 on the double and 112 on the single for Antunez’s two hits so far tonight.
