Who says no?  Sure looks like Caleb isn’t going to be a fit in Boston.  Hard to see Gasser part of our plan here.

change of scenery swap for both teams?  Maybe Durbin comes back, figures it out at AAA, and then gets comfortable here again like he did last year?

I know we have Jett and Pratt on the way, but with Jett’s versatility, he might be needed to jump start in the outfield.  Young players with a bat that can play will find time here.

Durbin might have been a flash in the pan last year (thanks for getting us Harrison), but given his success here, I’d be for going him another shot.

Brewers dumped Durbin right after getting Jett Williams. When asked why they were willing to let go of Durbin, Arnold said at the time that its because they dont want to block their prospects.

Both the Brewers and the Red Sox could have gotten Rengifro beforehand if they thought he was an upgrade. But he was always intended as a fill-in.

Durbin's got a sub-500 OPS. What about that says he is an upgrade even over Rengifro, much less Williams? Durbin's 2025 season is looking like a flash in the pan and they dont need him (Pratt + Williams).

I don't think the Red Sox will consider trading with us again while the current gm is there. If we take advantage of them again there might be a full on mutiny.

I know this is probably more message board fodder than something that would seriously happen, but it’s fun to think about. Would you trade any of the 3 players we got in return 1:1 for Durbin at this point? Definitely not Harrison. Almost certainly not Drohan. Maybe Hamilton? I don’t think Hamilton is great or anything, but his skillset fits our team really well being a left handed hitter, passable SS defensively (more so that Durbin), and elite speed. His OBP is passable. I think he’s a perfect utility infielder and could probably fake it in the OF too if we needed it.

as far as Gasser, I’m not ready to give up on him after like 5 MLB outings post Tommy John.

No. The two pitchers absolutely not and I think Hamilton gets so much more hate around here than he deserves. Everything you said about Hamilton is how I feel as well.. being left-handed he balances the infield better than Durban could and with all of our in-field prospects on the cusp being right-handed hitters as well... He will compliment next year's team the same way.
