Isn't it Miz's turn in the rotation? Because it could be a long night with Sproat.

Was supposed to be but they’ve pushed everyone back a day.  I’m very bitter about it, I’m going to Vegas this week and have tickets Wednesday.  Was lined up perfectly for Miz… until it wasn’t.

He's got good stuff. It's just not that apparent tonight.

Yeah it hasn’t been apparent in the vast majority of his starts all season,

Anyone else remember Rock talking about Manny Parra’s AAA no hitter every start he had for like 4 years, constantly saying he has “no hit stuff”? Some guys stuff just doesn’t ever materialize. It’s obviously early for Sproat, but the lack of progress is getting concerning.

I simply can’t watch Sproat pitch. I push “pause” when he starts an inning, wait a few minutes,  then I hit “jump to live” on my Apple TV remote. I get less frustrated that way.

I don't know about vast majority. If you look at games where he's effective, you see a lot of promise. The issue is consistency, obviously. If he can get there, we could really have something.

Is this Murphy's burner account?

Sproat is so disappointing. Unfortunately, everyone who could take his spot is injured or equally mediocre.

How many guys that we expected to be on the Opening Day pitching roster are currently on the IL.

I count Woodruff, Priester, Henderson, Koenig, Zerpa, and Hall

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I can’t believe anyone thinks we don’t need someone like Skubal. We have two legitimate starting pitchers.

I certainly don’t want us to trade three young top prospects for a three month (including playoffs) pitcher. We lose years of potential assets. Certainly no guarantee Skubal gets us past the Dodgers this year. So, I’m unapologetically against such a trade.

I remember how many people on this chatty board who wanted Abner, Ashby, Megill, etc etc thrown out of the organization while they were struggling and working on their games. Sproat might be a bust, or he might be a real asset. We just don't know yet.

He has exactly (1) quality start and (1) other start that reached 4 innings with less than 3 runs. Not many games where he’s effective to see that promise. Hes got a live arm, to be sure. So does almost every pitcher these days.

The unfortunate circumstance is that there’s currently no ability to send him down or to the bullpen to figure things out. The roster health is really putting everyone in a tough spot with Sproat.

Tlhis is the box they are in. If they try to push Miz and Harrison out every fifth day they are increasing the likelihood that they will be worn down and ineffective later in the season.

And while we b&m about Sproat being a disappointment, I am equally frustrated that Woodruff can’t stay healthy again. I’m ready for him to pitch. All the delays to “work on arm slot” … hooey - if you’re well enough to tweak things, get on the mound & pitch for the team that is paying you $22M this season.

I've heard encouraging thing about Woodruff, but no mention of his velocity. Does anyone know where he is?

You don’t even know the cost.

Definition of a contract paying you for what you’ve done, not what you will do. Brewers usually stay away from that, got a bit too sentimental with Woody.

I remember when he got hurt again and we were told it was just minor and he wouldn't be gone long. No one should fall for talk like that, especially when it comes to Woody. I have no faith he can ever stay healthy or return to his usual form.

Every team could use the back to back Cy Young award winner I think.
