Does Vaughn get paid more if he has a certain amount of at bats this season?  Maybe they are trying to save money by not allowing him to get to that certain number?

I think it's a great idea to sit one of, if not THE, hottest hitter on the team.

Just insane decision. You know before the game even starts that you are going to have to score 10. Benching your best bat is ridiculous even if the guy throws with both hands.

Rengifo also plays 3B. Vaughn does not. Someone needs to play there. Sucks, but such is the construction of the roster right now,

He appears to be a platoon bat against lefty starters these days. Apparently, his defensive limitations (1B or DH only) prevent him from playing every day.

I think the choice is Frelick or Perkins for final outfield spot. Perkins is unable to hit RHP pitching this season. 
 

Plus, I bet Sal is more willing to go to opposite field now that Lara is signed to extension 🙂
