A hit like that normally goes off of the pitcher

I definitely can’t fault Vaughn. He ripped a pitch and did nothing wrong.

His hard contact rate must be good.

Another RBI with a runner not in scoring position.

Maybe we should start stealing 1st from 2nd after doubles.

Where's Jean Segura when you need him?

Short sample alert but Cooper appears like he belongs.

To me he has been exactly as advertised.

Light hitting but can get on base a little bit and has wheels.

His real value is in his defense, where he is just as good if not better than Ortiz.

I don't know if his defense is as good but it's good. I have been impressed by his at bats. Even when he gets out, he makes the pitcher work and doesn't swing at garbage like Joey does

Let this sink in:

This was clearly one of Miz’s worst outings of the season and he gave us 6 innings struck out 8 and gave up 1 run.

Solid defense at shortstop so far. Also allows Hamilton to play third base, where his defense looks to be more than adequate. That compounding effect is good. As long as the offense is passable, it can work for most of the regular season, even if adding a bat for the stretch run and playoffs would be helpful.

Hamiltons got wheels ********

No doubt, Hamilton has the best nicknames on the team … created earlier this season on the BrewerFanatic In game thread.

Most days - he is Bunty … brilliant!
Some days - he is Sluggy … even more brilliant!

I was a huge Durbin fan - he was fun & worked hard to improve his defense at 3rd base last year.

In hindsight, Hamilton for Durbin would have been a great trade leaning the Brewers way.

Throw in Harrison & Drohan (two starting pitchers) for Monasterio & Seigler … this may prove to be an all-time Brewers best trade!

I won’t cite his defensive stats this year because it’s such a tiny sample size but he’s very, very good. I believe he won 2 gold gloves in the minors.

Its fair to say Ortiz has a longer track record of sustained defensive success but I believe Pratt has the higher defensive ceiling.

Speaking of Durbin he seems to have turned things around at the plate lately for Boston.

Hitting .320 over the last 30 games and on a pretty good heater right now. 11 for 24.

The Cubs are paying Bregman and Swanson a combined $60mil/yr or something like that to underwhelm at 3B and SS.

Meanwhile the Brewers are paying Bunty and Pratt a combined $14.50/hr to beat the Cubs.

It is so glorious to watch.

I will wait until I see him have to make more plays that involve range. I feel like Ortiz gets to a ton of baseballs.

Yes - I’m cheering for him & check Boston box scores often. 🙌
