There are 43 dudes with an OPS over 1.000 in the DSL this year. Last year, there were 7. The year before that, there were 9.

Odd sequence in the DSL Blue game.

RHP Alejandro Bustamante came in to start the 5th and walked the first man he faced. During the next at-bat that runner was caught stealing, but Bustamante must have been pulled from the game as well.

So Bustamante’s stat line will show one-third of an inning pitched and just one batter faced, but one walk as well.

Some sort of injury sequence it would seem.

Oh, and DSL Gold is having a day.

There are 51 teams in the league. The Brewers teams are #3 and #5 in HRs. The teams that are 1-2 each have 100 more ABs than ours (along with being in the top 15 oldest teams).

Even in a crazy year, our guys are the craziest.

Have the number of teams stayed the same the last few years? I didn't check

Just perusing some minor league stats - remember Jhonny Severino?  Traded to PIT for Carlos Santana in 2023.

He's tied for 15th in all of the minor leagues in HRs with 19.  In A+, still only 21 years old.

Former Brewers draft pick Alex Binelas has 18 for PHI's AA team.  He's cut his K rate down and is sporting a cool .968 OPS, but is now 26.  Maybe there's still a Jake Bauers breakout in him.

I wondered who had more HRs than Fischer.  Of course, it's a STL prospect, Joshua Baez, a 2nd round pick in 2021.  But the 23 BB to 101 K ratio isn't looking promising.

Lots to feast on already today

I always have a special affection for any affiliate beating any Dodgers affiliate anywhere😅 A couple 2-3 years back the Mega - 2022 & 2023 summers- were really good and consistently gave the Brewers squads fits. Always lovely to see the mediocre results (no offense to the players 😁)...

Come to think of it, that score looks awfully similar to the Cubs score vs Red Birds yesterday. Poor fellers.

Played their hearts out!

I was excited about Binelas when they drafted him. Local guy (Oak Creek) with big power who IIRC stalled once he got to the high A level. Sounds like he may be figuring things out.

AFA Brewer farmhands, there are so many optimistic numbers to look at. A couple blurbs that I believe may be flying under the radar: Josiah Ragsdale now has 374 PAs in his career, and has maintained an OBP of .455. And like Adamczewski, his performance has if anything picked up since jumping to AA. That HAS to have folks talking. Even has a little bit of XB pop. And Mike Boeve, after a weak April, has hit .331 since May 1st. He doesn't have a defensive home & is a LH bat (something the organization isn't exactly lacking) so I wouldn't be surprised if his name is bantered about over the phone this month. But I've always loved that bat.
