Mize is my guess with reports the Brewers are shopping in the rental market. Maybe a Clay Holmes.

Randy Arozarena is the rental bat to target because he unlike most of our hitters has proven to be a big time playoff performer.

MacKenzie Gore? Under control for next season and has good extension but not sure about the pitch profiles. Wonder what the prospect cost would be.

Holmes has pitched well since coming back from injury, and obviously also has experience as a late-inning reliever. Might be an interesting chess piece. I wonder if Luke Weaver is also part of the talks? Kill two birds with one stone.

Trading with the Mets makes a lot of sense as Stearns knows our system/prospects very well and I'm sure he has certain ones he prefers

ARozarena would be my choice …Put him 3rd and the Skubal negativity mainly goes away, especially if they get Kirby too.

The price? Steep. Pena, Fish, Letson, and a good milb outfielder?

I would do that, yep. It would be steep, but would have Kirby for a couple more years and a great bat NOW in the middle of the lineup. Another righty bat to play OF. Lara and Lockridge would be moved down and maybe called up in Sept. 

I would jump at it if I Was Seattle……..bright future for 2027 + immediately.

Slight overpay is also ok.
Miz and Greene would be a fun 1-2.

My other big swing slight overpay OK would be Gunnar Henderson to play third. He would be fun.

Unlike most I see no need to make a big move for pitching and absolutely want nothing to do with trading away any of our top prospects. This team if anything needs a needle moving bat since most of this lineup is punchless and have been really poor performers in the postseason. Arozarena seemed like a perfect fit if the price is relatively cheap but he is supposedly off the market.

Except, Stearns will want to make up for the Peralta trade.  Wonder if a different team might get a better deal than the Brewers from Stearns?

GMs and owners are quietly charging us a premium versus other trade partners because they know the strongest argument that the MLBPU would have against a salary cap would be if the Brewers won the World Series.

I'm just throwing the thought out there.

He got screwed by the Brewers on the Peralta trade, and now wants to make up for it by getting the better end of another deal from us.

WIth all of the trades the Tigers made I am kind of surprised Gleyber Torres is still with the team, made a qualifying offer last year so no compensation after the season. He could help the offense if Tigers eventually put him on waivers but probably too many teams ahead of the Brewers that would claim him.
