Can someone tell me why the Brewers threw in the towel before the game even started today. Just like they did when they pulled the Miz before his start against Pittsburg, before the all star game. They start a guy from tripple A who hasn't pitched in years to give our pitchers rest. Twice they've done this against bad teams and lost miserably. To me you play to win or dont even play. It is super annoying when we just take the day off against teams we should beat. You know if the Cubs win tonight they'll only be 5 games out, which certainly is not an insurmontable lead for us. Am I the only one who feels this way? It's not fair to the fans who love this team to not see our best effort especially if we go to watch them in action.

Disappointed fan.

Basically it comes down to this. Do you care more about our SP firing on all cylinders and being as fresh as can be come October or do you care more about winning a game on July 29th.

Here's the Bryse Wilson who couldn't even get hitters out in AAA all year.  Going to need a fake IL stint for him or Pannone to get Stallings back up.  And DL Hall's return can't come soon enough.

He needs to be teaching high school math next year or something like that. Just isnt a big league arm.

Another failed trip to SF.

I guess we should be grateful that it wasn’t a 4 game series.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I can’t really argue with this point, though I thought the in-game management left a lot to be desired, particularly with the bullpen decisions when the game was well within reach at 3-2.

With the loss today they are 8-4 post ASB. You seriously expected them to play better than .667% baseball in these first four series?

Why is it that people are willing to just accept nonsense.

It's ok if we, as fans, expect better, especially against the frickin' Rockies and Giants.

You thought going to Patrick and Ashby our 4th and 3rd best relievers in a one-run game left a lot to be desired? What would you have done differently?

I wouldn’t have sent Patrick out for a 3rd inning. I said so even before the floodgates opened.

The Giants have won both their series against the Braves. They won a series against the Cubs. The Brewers 3-4 record against them after today is exactly the same record the Dodgers have against the Giants.

Why do fans just assume that below .500 teams will roll over and die? It's baseball. Bad teams beat good teams literally all the time.

Okay so you would have sent Ashby out and he sucked today so they probably still lose the game.

Maybe, maybe not. Starting an inning isn’t the same as coming into the middle of one.

We’ll never know. Whatever, the pitching sucked.

And Ashbys somebody that should almost never inherit runners due to his control issues especially the first couple of hitters he faces.

The alarm bells were going off and the lights were flashing with the fact we kept putting lead off runners on The previous innings. You keep doing that and eventually it's going to turn into a big number.

Welcome to BF! Pannone might have been the best pitcher we had today.

The Brewers who we should be all concerned about because they went 3-3 against the Giants and Rockies the last 6 games are 8-5 against those teams this year.

The Cubs who we are all supposed to be scared of because they are so good went 7-5 against the Giants and Rockies this year.

I'm not saying the Brewers are 1000% going to win the division but can people stop acting like dropping a series to the Giants is some meaningful message that this team isn't actually good and is going to choke the division away? Everyone here has watched enough baseball in their life that they should be well aware that good teams lose to bad teams all the time.

I don’t think anyone thinks that. I definitely expect the Cubs to remain competitive and not just hand us the division, and I think some improvements particularly with the pitching staff should be considered before next week’s deadline..

I hate to burn a game & destroy our well earned “run differential” all on the same day.

And for those who say RD isn’t important, why does MLB keep the stat? It does matter & it reflects how dominant a team is over the long run.

We are officially 2/3 of the way through the 2026 season & Milwaukee is on pace to win 100 games & the NL Central for the fourth consecutive year.

Come into today Ashby has stranded 10 of his 16 inherited runners. Not amazing but not some awful number. He's also the only LHP on the roster so I'm not sure who you would have rather seen in that spot. Anderson can't get LHH out and Yoho looked shaky last night and has been very shaky pitching back to back days.

The book on Yelich is clearly high fastballs

idk, low and inside breaking balls give him fits too. Take your pick.

Sanchez should be hitting 8th.

I don't for the life of me know why Murphy hits him as high as he does in the batting order vs righties.

Pretty sure I don't want to debate in-game decisions in a 16-3 game. I will say that AFA the at-bats vs Webb were concerned I thought our approach was decent. We scored two in 6 innings, and would've had a third except Bauers hit a rocket in the first inning that was pretty much hit right into Lee's glove because Webb. Then Yelich almost dumps one into LF that hangs up for Ramos because Webb. Next inning Mitchell guesses on a 3-2 pitch & guesses wrong because........

None of it matters when you play like we did, though. The Mitchell drop. The steal attempt by Adames in the 6th, there were no less than three defenders who made bad plays-decisions there. And the Sanchez play at the plate------Obviously this was light years below the major league level, but I've caught. When a throw beats the runner coming home on a tag play & you catch the ball, whether it's a swipe or two-handed tag it's almost impossible to lose the ball like he did unless the runner crashes into you or kicks it out on the slide. Neither of these things happened. If I'm Pat Murphy I'd be tempted to say that when they get to Anaheim he hopes to get his team back, as opposed to whoever this was today. Easily one of the 3-4 worst games they played all year.

Bauers swings the bat pretty well w/a broken toe. And I prefer Vaughn over him as a pitcher. Not as effective but much more interesting.

I went and did a workout when it was 3-2, wasn't expecting that finish.

Can someone explain the bullpen usage critique? Looks like we played by the book.

But the opposite isn't true? Why is it ok for a fan to throw a fit over a single game or a single series but not ok for another fan to zoom out a bit and realize the trajectory is still ok?

Can't both things be allowed?

Aaron Ashby being our best LHRP is a major problem. This guy is not reliable enough to be a high leverage guy at this point. Among Brewers relievers with 10 IP, Ashby is last in WPA (win probability added) and has two times as many meltdowns (lowering win probability by more than 8%) as the next most in the bullpen. He has 10 meltdowns and the next closest is 5. His 10 is more than our two other leverage relievers (Megill and Uribe) have combined (9).

wasn't Ashby really good at one point? is it just regression this season?
