Poster A loses his mind over something silly. Poster B provides objective stats to counter.  Poster A tells Poster B that they're wrong and that the stats are wrong and/or that they don't care about those stats and/or that they're not a fan if they don't want to win every single game.  Poster B tells Poster A to chill. Poster C steps in and tells Poster B they are not allowed to tell Poster A what to post. Poster B tells Poster C he also is not allowed to tell people how to post, pot meet kettle. Meanwhile Poster D and Poster F are trying to find out how many options Player 1 has remaining but they are having to shout over A, B and C.

After the game, Adult 1 and Adult 2 do a quick walk through to put the coloring books back on the shelves, pick up the scattered puzzle pieces, and restock the juice boxes so we can all do it again the next day.

Big happy family. Go Brewers.

Surfing through an IGT is akin to shopping at Walmart at 2 a.m. Yes, you will eventually find what you are looking for, but to get there, you're going to have to push through a few drunks, a handful of people in pajamas and fuzzy slippers, an old guy yelling at a teenage entry-level employee because his favorite brand of Metamucil was moved, and an overweight middle-aged dude riding a handicap scooter around with a dog inexplicably in the basket.

You crossed a line there, totally uncalled for.  Lets try to keep things civil.

I wonder if Ortiz is still not healthy enough to start. Hard to imagine Bae would be playing over him for strategy/platoon reasons especially because the defensive drop off from Ortiz-Turang middle infield to Turang-Bae is pretty steep.

Or you just don't go to walmart at 2AM and if you do, you know what you were getting into.  You certainly aren't yelling at the scooter guy telling him its inexplicable to have the dog in the basekt.

If you scroll past the extremely emotional, ignorant, and irrational posts that appear every game, and the no more useful posts from those who feel compelled to comment about those irrational posts every day, you might detect that some posters who insisted that the numbers proved that the Brewers offense was one of the best in MLB might be starting to recognize that that might not be the case.

35 runs in 10 games in August does not inspire confidence that the mediocre offense from the previous 6 weeks is ready to break out. The Brewers have been able to keep winning at a good pace, and have only given up 3 games from the high point of their division lead. But there is some question that that lead might be in jeopardy as the Brewers continue the necessary load management for their exteremely young starting rotation.

Maybe some off days and the extra pitcher that can be added in September will help. But more runs would definitely take some of the burden off the pitchers.

The banter- counter banter is a regular pollutant on all social media discussion platforms unfortunately. I tire of both too.

Not sure how that relates to posting tendencies and the numbers though. Regardless, I agree with what I think you're saying. Clinging primarily to spreadsheet data often doesn't tell the whole or real story in athletics. But some fans slavishly operate by them. I'm not sure, but I suspect it may be a byproduct of participation in data driven fantasy baseball leagues and / or video games. Other fans seem to be driven by a "Moneyball" corporate mindset where you just let the numbers on various graphs and charts tell you how to think. Maybe some come from business degree backgrounds and that "by the numbers" employment dependence carries over to their fandom. I never had much interest in fantasy leagues, or video games of the past 30 years, and I don't have a business degree.  I just can't relate to the over-the-top metrics and charts that urge a story different than what my own eyes can plainly see. That's not to say data measurement is something I wholly reject. You need "something" to evaluate with of course.

Yeah……I pretty much stay away from game threads because it’s not my thing to vent and complain in real time.

But obviously some people seem to want a place to do that and it’s what game threads are……so for those like me…..best to just sit it out….most of the time.

Scar was told to hit the bricks until he decides to look the part.  Good for Bryse, man that must have been something else when he was told to hit the bricks after pitching great relief vs. Twins last Friday.

This reminds me of some of the Yelich situations in the past. He sits for 2 or 3 days, then four. You play chicken with a short roster in the hopes he's another day or two away. Once you get to 5-6 days if he isn't back then you back-date an IL stint. I think that's where we are with Ortiz. He ran yesterday & apparently all was good; now on to more baseball-related stuff. I'm guessing that by LA he'll either be playing or IL'ed.

This, it always comes down to the 3 or 4 people here telling others how to post.  Every single time, then it starts.

I still can't believe those posters bother to check into IGT threads when they feel the need to control the room but can't, but then again, I think they love starting the conflict.

The IGT never changes, and it never will.  Some just don't have the will or stomach to participate, and most of those people have figured that out, but some, just aren't built for the IGT and have yet to figure that out.

For all we know he was told "You're being DFA'd, but after we use Richardson once you'll be back so don't sit around eating Oreos all weekend. Unless that's, you know, part of your normal regimen."

That and all the weak *** passive agressive pot shots after the fact.  Nothing but whining.  The "positive" posters on this board are easily the most negative.

Do you think maybe it's time to move Turang down in the lineup? Someone who strikes out almost half his at bats is not ideal for leadoff duty.

When you have a team loaded with slumping hitters there is no ideal lead off man. I think his recent performances should put an end, at least temporarily, to calls for Lara to lead off.

Could be, but then again, we don't have anyone that is ideal to leaf-off.

Or they just wanted to go lefty heavy against Buehler tonight……

Well, at least someone who will put the ball in play more than half the time.

The IGT experience certainly isn't unique to the Brewers.  If you're on X (aka Twitter) check out an account called Message Board Geniuses during the college football season.  They scan fan base message boards and post the 'better' entries.

Always an entertaining read.

Spoiler alert -- default post is "The opponent just scored -- fire everybody'

If they are playing Bae over Ortiz for matchup reasons I would be pretty annoyed. Bae is not an MLB caliber player and you're really hurting your defense by playing him at 2B and moving Turang to SS.

On another subject, the Cubs figure to be padding their run totals against the Nats pitching.

Maybe the Nats can pull out a 9-8 win. I wish Wood was available. His IL stint is hurting my fantasy team too.

Yeah I don’t know…..could be that they want to give him another day or 2 ……but it wouldn’t surprise me if they went with the advantage…….but unless a reporter asks I doubt we’ll ever know.

I can’t believe we are doing this in game thread autopsy every game now.   It’s beat to death.   Have fun with it.    If people argue who cares.   You rarely see it get personal.

if you start with this theory (kind of like the “imagine the audience naked” theory when public speaking

1.  Every person here has understands the game.  Baseball isn’t rocket science

2. any poster who thinks they know more than anyone else probably couldn’t run a junior high practice without the kids falling down laughing

once you follow those premises it shouldn’t really bother people that much

Just hard to believe Bae is an advantage. He's a AAA level player that they pulled off the street a few days ago.

Didn't realize Bae was exclusively a second baseman (and outfielder).  I mislike that our options seem to be to move Turang to SS or play Vaughn at 3rd.  Hopefully Ortiz can play soon, like tomorrow soon.  Otherwise I am on the Luke Adams bandwagon (who is missing from the Sounds lineup tonight with Blake Burke up).
