I’d guess they are doing the same thing with Gasser that they did with Drohan this week. Throw out of the pen on Tuesday and then have his start pushed back to Saturday/Sunday. If they do this and keep up the 6 man rotation they would have the top 4 lined up to face the Cubs in Wrigley.

I agree with this. Throwing Harrison/May/Miz/Henderson against the Cubs. Maybe an outside shot they use Gasser on his bullpen day today because of the Braves lefites.

It seems like a lot of these novelty games in non MLB parks turn into HR Derby slugfests. I hope this isn’t one of those with all of the home run hitters the Braves have.

I wonder why they give teams  an extra player for this game?

Also seems that unlike double headers it may be restricted to position players?  Which provides little value.  Our only pitching option would have been Koenig, but another bullpen arm would still tend to be more useful.

Braves choice is...Brewer Hicklen.

Seems like this park has played decently in previous games:

I was thinking the same thing until checking the dimensions, which are run-of-the-mill. It also sounds like the wind has never been a factor in previous games.

Just viewing the layout, MAYBE it plays a little bigger re X-base hits?

Pretty damn short down the lines. Could be a good game for Sanchez

I choose to think that HR parks favor teams with less power. Guys with warning track power getting HRs. Just get it in the air. Kinda like how Scooter went off when he played for Cincinnati. Now, it’s just my thought and I’ve never attempted to apply any statistical analysis to it.

The whole “Brewers have no power” narrative is a bunch of baloney anyway. We just don’t waste our time with solo HRs.

The counter to that is that hitters that don’t hit HR often aren’t used to trying to hit the ball in the air. It’s not that they have warning track power, they just hit more line drives.

But, looking at past results there the games haven’t been unusually high scoring.

I checked on that.  Not in the past in Williamsport.

Dan Wilson is having a bad week leaving pitchers in too long. Now he wants to see Miller give up his second grand slam of the day.

Gross… just when I get on a roll giving compliments to Pancakes, he submits this lineup.

i guess I don’t have an issue with the Hamilton/Pratt swap, but playing Yelich instead of giving Jackson, Jake, or Bill a day off in the field is annoying.
