It’s baseball but the team with the best record in baseball should not go from playing great to horrific baseball. Turang bobbling routine ball’s and double clutching repeatedly

Don’t worry, the offense will come through with some soft infield ground outs. It will be fine.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking “this is all still okay” just because we’re still up 6 tonight no matter what happen.

We could easily, easily play ourselves back into a 3 game wild card series even if we hang onto the division.

Im rolling with "this is all still okay" until its not.  I've invested too much into this season to give up the positivity at this point.  Ill save up all my bitterness until they are actually caught, or at least have the play in the WC round.

Careful, you get called negative and not a real fan by smug, condescending blowhards for saying things like that.

You think you can hurt me? I watch Wisconsin sports. You can't hurt me.

That might be game.   See you guys tomorrow when we get our ace on the mound

Can he hit too?

I’m still waiting to see the Brewers elite offense take advantage of the Cubs God awful pitching.

I mean it’s all okay if you are fine with just the fun ride of a 95 win regular season.

We see this story every year. We know how it ends.

I'll always favor the bye because it's fewer games you have to win. But I don't even think that's really a huge deal. I'm pretty calm at the moment simply because if we swept this series and went up 12 games it wouldn't change anything once the NLDS started. Everyone would have the same anxiety, the same panic on every play...just not going to stress about these games. Too much will change between now and when it counts.

Community note: the Brewers are the best in baseball against teams with winning records.

Regular season baseball isn’t playoff baseball.

I'm scared to death that this is a preview of the playoffs to come. 1st and 2nd nobody out and Churio does something stupid and Bauers then whiffs for the 6th time in his last 10 ABs. Gasser walks the lead off guy then falls apart. The defense is shakey too.

Lol. And that’s why you can’t lead off with a walk.

That inning was tough to watch. Promising start followed by Contreras swinging at ball four (and then popping out) and Chourio just trying to do too much.

After that, you give up a walk and then a lucky little swinging bunt single. Next thing you know, it's 3-0.

Even bigger, for me, is that, in 13 innings in absolutely prime offensive conditions, the Brewers have scored 3 runs and generally looked awful at the plate. I know everyone's upset about losing to the Cubs, blah blah blah, we're manufacturing drama because we're basically assured a playoff berth and still have a strong lead in the Central, but the lack of slug has always been the question for this team. It's been a bad week for the "the offense is good" crowd (not ripping on that crowd at all, just pointing out that these performances, in big games, are exactly what the critics worry about).

No Brewers fan could possibly think everything is okay, but I'm so accustomed to failure it doesn't hurt me anymore and I prefer to just hold onto the hope that for once it might actually be ok.

The quiet truth is that Murphy shares some blame for what Chourio did last inning.

If you preach “be aggressive at all times” and you actively bench a young guy when he isn’t, don’t be shocked when there are consequences,

Cubs' defense is otherworldly.

Lara is so getting benched for not getting a double on that.

I want to win it all and will be disappointed if (when) they get eliminated.  So I see your point.  But Im saying Im going to still talk myself into they can do it, until they don't.   Ive been generally happy for almost 140 games, no point in getting disappointed until its over.

If Yelich has to be in the lineup at least bat him 9th.  Ideally he should be sitting at home with an "injury".

All fair. We have no control over it anyway.

How many mental mistakes can we make in one game?

What was the mental mistake? Lara was probably toast if he tried to stretch it into a double.
