What a win……Miz doesn’t have it……and the bats and bullpen pick him up!

Not how one would typically draw up a win in a Misiorowski start, but it’s another victory towards clinching the division and a potential top seed.

Dominance being shown by the Brewers’ bullpen stands in great contrast to the Cubs’ relievers.

Just 48 hours ago the Cubs had scored 17 runs and the Brewers were crumbling under the spotlight.  Not its a 9 game lead with 22 left and the Cubs are much closer to the 7th seed than challenging the Brewers for the division.  Things have rapidly improved.

Anyone else reminded of the '18 team tonite, when four or even five guys would go an inning each & barely give up anything? 

Nice to bail out a subpar start tonite. We all know that doesn't happen real often. Really looked to me like it wasn't the mound for Misiorowski as much as simply missing badly, and also some close misses that weren't chased---that team can do that to you. They had a nice approach. Good to see it was wasted.

Great approach at the plate, not only scoring runs but getting Peterson out of the game early & making the Chicago manager go through his BP rolodex early one more time.

I wonder how often we'll see Bauers in the OF from now on, esp RF. That looked like one heck of a Suzuki impersonation on the triple. Well hit, but not sure how it wasn't caught.

Looks like Pratt & Lara are pretty good at baseball. Wonderful night.

ESPN's whatchamemetrics said the division was 99% before tonight.  We now seek to smack them into playing the Wild Card series in Philadelphia.

Biggest play of the game was the 4th inning. Cubs lead 5-3. Turang lays down a bunt. Amaya throws home with zero shot to get Pratt. He takes the out at first, that inning ends with the score 5-4.

I am sure others mentioned it live, but I think it bears repeating.

A split series basically buries the Cubs as far as the Central is concerned. Still be nice to win tomorrow, but no one should leave this set feeling bad either way.

From a strength standpoint, right now it looks like Herman (Munster) vs Herman, (Pee Wee).

As long as we're on the BP, let's hope for the best for Webb. Damn, took that one right on the throwing arm.

A Cubs loss tomorrow will put them as close to last place in the division as they are first place.
