Timber Rattlers RHP Quinton Low turns 24 today. You may remember this from the Link Report for games of August 7th:

There was a scary moment in the Timber Rattlers game as RHP Quinton Low took a 106 MPH liner directly off his face, somehow exiting on his own power, but it was initially a bloody sight. We are hopeful we'll learn he'll be OK."

Low has since been placed on the 60-day IL and there's been no official word on his status. Some additional background was provided in the Wisconsin section of that linked report above.

Also -

Low's T-Rat teammate, catcher Marco Dinges, celebrates his 23rd birthday today, unfortunately also on the IL, the 7-day version as of August 14th. Barring a surprise activation this weekend, Marco's regular season is over. Perhaps a return to the Arizona Fall League, where Dinges was limited to two games last year?

I gave up on Wilson last week. Haven't watched a game since I went to the Doubleheader vs Hickory last weekend.

The AA Shuckers host Birmingham for a doubleheader today, with 22-year old LHP JD Thompson (9.1 IP, 4 R (3 ER), 11 Ks over last 2 starts) starting the first game. 1B Andrew Fischer has hit 6 homers over his last 7 games.

AAA Nashville have won 4 straight 1-run home games over Louisville and have LHP Tate Kuehner (9.2 IP, 5 R (3 ER), 12 Ks in 3 outings since 3-month injury) taking the mound first this evening. LF Tyler Black has a 7-game hitting streak.

Jeferson Quero has caught a grand total of 20 innings since June 26.

It may be wrong to speculate on this, but I’ve got to assume he needs some sort of clean-up arm surgery and they’ll do it in the offseason.

He’s still only 23 years old. Fingers crossed he can get healthy enough to be a solid defensive catcher again by 2027 (I assume that’ll be his last option year, since I guess he’ll get 4 option years given the 2024 injury) or 2028.

For Wilson’s penultimate game in its inaugural season, the team welcomes 18-year old LHP Frank Cairone (2025 2nd round pick) for his Low-A debut. They’re playing at Fredericksburg and need to snap a 10-game losing streak. 3B Frederi Montero has a .778 OPS over his last 111 PAs.

Wisconsin also play their second last game of the 2026 season, seeking a win at Beloit behind RHP Daniel Corniel (5.11 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 6.1 K/9 in 37 High-A IP) to grab a 3-2 series lead. RF Luis Castillo has 4 homers over his last 6 games.

Man. Just. Man. If I recall correctly, wasn't the original injury a dive back to first base early in that 2024 season? What a devastating injury. He and Dinges are so incredibly talented and they've each had absurdly bad injury luck.

After that close loss in the first game of today’s home doubleheader against Birmingham, Biloxi hands the ball to RHP Jaron DeBerry (15.2 IP, 7 R (2 ER), 22 Ks in last 3 outings) for Game 2. C Matt Wood enters as the sole lineup change.

Wilson on the verge of a losing streak to lose out the end their season and finish a game under 0.500. A season of obscene second half losing streaks continues in the Brewers org. Maybe they have some rally in those sleepy bats? Man oh man. Alas, my thoughts return to Luis Pena.
