The feel good story of Woody being on the team won’t feel so good if they blow this thing.   Patrick should have been on over him.

This was probably the biggest mistake Murphy made in an otherwise great managing season. I also really disliked pulling Hamilton for Vaughn. It was not a left handed pitcher. This caused Joey to get an at bat and obviously the error.

There’s just a world where I pitch Drohan.  Keep Senzatela in. Pitch Miz.  He’ll send Woody back out there.   I just can’t go with Drohan

At first glance you'd like to have had a Uribe or a Megill for the 12th. But really, the usage tonight leaves us in a better spot than TB for tomorrow, BP-wise. It didn't work because Drohan was poor after Ortiz set the table for them, but I get it. I assume there's now some clamoring for Patrick to have made the roster, despite his blowup vs STL, or Anderson. Hard to argue with that.

It's a little weird, being one game from a World championship with the way the defense has, at times, struggled.

I think it's going to be about as interesting as you can get to see what Cash does tomorrow re his pitching after using both Jax & Martinez. Might have to go back to Rasmussen on three days.

Caminero sure didn't look good heading off the field.

Would have been fine if Murphy just used Miz

The stuff with Miz....

Your mantra from day one is "win today" but you don't use him for the last 3 outs?

I don't get it.

The thing with Miz going tonight - wasnt the dude in the dugout and not in the bullpen the whole game?  I didn't see him head to the pen at any point once it got to extras, either - being up 3-0, i doubt there was any scenario Miz pitched tonight and he probably didn't prepare to be on the mound at all tonight either.  Asking him to aboutface after being a cheerleader for 4+ hours and take the ball isnt what he's used to doing, either.

I'm more mad at Murph's decision to play the IF in with nobody out and guys on 1st and 3rd - where you get a double play and try to get more in the 13th inning against a Rays bullpen that was torched, too.

Drohan got a bunch of ground balls that were either misplayed, found holes, or turf hopped over everyone.

It is what it is, on to tomorrow.

Precisely. The error - and, let's be real, Bauers average scoop ability at 1B - set things in motion. A DP ball gets seeing eyes because the infield is in trying to prevent a run from scoring as the primary play. The chopper also goes into the outfield because the infield is in.

This team has been phenomenal all post-season. And, they have answered all adversity in a manner demonstrating they can shake something like this off. I trust they can do it one more time.

Murphy was playing for the win in the 9th and for the win the entire night and then just ****** up in the 12th. I don’t get it

Defense tonight was not good for sure.

The use of Woodruff threw me off. I figured he was there for a real purpose but using him in a 10-0 game and then seeing him surrender a run made me question why he was used in favor of Patrick. Prior to the series, I wouldn't have taken Patrick off the roster anyway. If I'm being honest, it's May and then Drohan, but if they believe May is the best choice to start, to me the worst option was easily Drohan.

When it became clear that Woodruff wasn't a serious pitcher, definitely scratched my head a bit.

He was sitting in the bullpen

If Mis is going tomorrow you absolutely need at least 7 from him. Just the most disastrous way to lose this game. But Murphy saved the staff for the next road trip.

“At least” 7? He hasn’t gone 7 innings in almost 3 months. There is nearly zero chance of getting 7 innings out of Miz tomorrow.

It’s not like you’re gonna start Miz in 5 and 7. You got one start left with him tops. If you really couldn’t throw him tomorrow after an inning tonight then he goes in 6. It’s just insane you didn’t trot him out to close it out.

The name on the back of the jersey is the same but he’s not the same pitcher he was earlier this year.   Just a different guy.   Probably get 4 innings tomorrow

And if he gets knocked out early then we’re in big trouble.  This whole thing was just screwed up because a guy can’t throw to first, the first baseman can’t pick a ball, and Murphy didn’t try to go for a kill shot.

They have bounced back all season, no real reason to think they won't tomorrow. This still stings though and i think most of us just won't believe it's real until it happens and to get so close...

I am 54 years old, I have been a Brewers fan all my life. We were three outs away. This was devastating. But good gosh we are still winning this freaking thing let's put this behind up and bring on tomorrow's game thread.

Then we’re going back to Milwaukee and praying Henderson doesn’t crap the bed.

You don’t close this out tomorrow then now you have to beat their two best again.   Holy **** did they **** themselves tonight.

Miz should go as long as he can tomorrow whether that's 4 or 7. I would give Ashby the day off and shelf him for this thing going back to MKE on 2 days off. He looked tired. Megill should be available. I shudder to say it but if Harrison is on the roster I assume he's pitching at some point. Tomorrow might be that point.

I still cannot believe we had a chance to finish the championship season with a 1 run lead in extras and Murphy handed the ball to Shane freaking Drohan.
