Bring Back The Stein - is that Clement Zablocki's pic in your avatar? Awesome. I just came across a book of matches I got at some tavern with his picture on 'em, Elect Zablocki in 71, or something like that.

I don't think it's hyperbole to say that it's become impossible to predict the lineup, from game to game. I can't believe that uncertainty is good for the players.

Personally I like consistent lineups, I'm not sure why, maybe I'm just weird, but I really don't think that has too much of an effect on anything.

I don't think Braun being behind Fielder will make a noticable difference. Braun occasionally swings at bad pitches, but almost everyone does except those who are special. I honestly don't think his avg will drop more than 5 or 10 pts being in the four spot if he stays there and if Jenkins can get on one of his patented streaks, (crossing fingers Sunday wasn't a complete fluke), Braun should still get some ok pitches to drive.

What the heck, give it a shot.

LaRussa's been batting their pitcher's in the 8 for like two weeks now.

They've been winning with it, so why not I guess.

LaRussa's just trying to shake up the lineup, he's been hitting the pitcher 8th lately. I think it's the first time he's done it in a while, like 7 years or something.

I also really like this lineup. Weeks may not be hitting a lot, but he's been getting on base. Hardy and Jenkins are both swinging the bat well and moving them up in the order makes sense. The Braun/Fielder swap might hurt Braun's numbers, but they'll help Fielder's by giving him some protection. Estrada's uselessness is perfect for the 8th spot.

I have to say, I enjoy seeing the the current Brewers squad in the dugout watching the pre-game ceremony. I remember the reunion back in 2002, when the entire Phillies team stood on the top step of the dugout throughout and there wasn't a Brewer to be seen. Quite a ways the franchise has come in 5 years.

There ya go, Ned just gave an in depth explanation of why he shifted around the order. Can't really argue.

Recap/Cliff's Notes for those of us without access to the game on TV/radio?

Just a heads up to anyone unaware, this game was a very late addition to the HD schedule, so if you have FSN HD, flip it on.

This is sweet, I'm surprised as many of these guys are in town for this as there are. Nice to see.

Are the Brewers wearing the retros for the game tonight? Looks like it.

well, not a dry eye in THIS household. Now get a win and make it all complete.

Oh my gosh, thanks for the notice. This is so much better in HD. I would have never known.

No non-Brewers IGT, so I'll post it here for those interested: Cincy just went up 2-0 in the 3rd on a Griffey double. Cubs haven't touched Harang through the first two innings.
