Top Ten old jerseys that should be banned

In spirit of straightcashhomey.net , a website that displays jerseys of former players that are still worn today (such as a Dave Nilsson Brewers' jersey at a Brewer game or a Nick Van Exel Laker jersey still being worn today).

Here are my top ten former Brewers jerseys that should be banned from Miller Park:

1) Pat Listach

2) Dave Nilsson

3) Marc Newfield

4) Brady Clark

5) Carlos Lee

6) Corey Koskie

7) Greg Vaughn

8) Marquis Grissom

9) Jeromy Burnitz

10) Davey Lopes

Top 10 Bucks jerseys that should not be allowed at the Bradley Center:

2) Terrell Brandon (I sadly own these two jerseys)

3) Todd Day

4) Lee Mayberry

5) Ervin Johnson

6) Eric Murdock

7) Brad Lohaus

8) Ray Allen

9) Gary Payton

10) Anthony Mason

Top 10 Packer jerseys that are not allowed at Lambeau

6) Terrell Buckley

7) Craig Newsome

I'm the opposite. The more of those guys on that list I see the better - sans a couple (Lee, Payton, Buckley, Walker).

Others that should be listed as no-no's:

Brewers - Hammonds, Capellan

Bucks - Big Dog (I never liked him)

Packers - Carroll, Rubley

I think anyone in a Listach jersey deserves a pat on the back for suffering through 15+ years of horrid baseball. It is a symbol of personal strength.

I really think old jerseys are cool. My friends and I used to always wear them for laughs. I used to bust out my Ed Cota UNC jersey all the time for pickup games.

I agree, but the eternal question is always "how long until they are cool?" Carlos Lee to me is not cool right now. Matt Mieske, hell yes. Bob McClure, you bet!

The list is completely invalidated by the omission of Mark Chmura.

Once the verdict came down, I went to my nearest TJ Maxx and picked up a good ol' #89 on clearance for like $12. I don't think I have it anymore, though.

I wonder how hard one would have to look to find a Jeff Query jersey? Sadly enough, I do own a Tractor Trailer jersey from his time at Michigan....

I don't see anything wrong with Ray Allen. Always have been a fan. Not sure if I'd still wear the jersey to a game, but only because it's been a good number of years now since he was traded away for a sack of basketballs.

Also, I challenge anybody to show up with a Davey Lopes jersey..do they even exist?

In my book, you can wear whatever jersey you want, as long as the player is not currently playing for another team. Put away your Carlos Lee jersey until he retires or comes back to the Brewers. Think about how stupid Cubs fans look in the Maddux and Garciaparra jerseys. If you've got a Dave Nilsson jersey or a Pat Listach one....wear them with pride!

I think the Maddux Cubs is past the statute of limitations. IF they got that jersey during his first stint with them. Obviously, if they got it in '04-'06, they shouldn't wear it, but from '86-'92, definitely fine.

I also think that you can wear the jersey of a guy that's still active, as long as he was a disgrace to the organization of the jersey. That is funny. For instance, a Pacman Jones (once he's cut). Or an Artest Pacers (especially with a 91).

These are the kind of jerseys I would want, just to be weird. From the lists, I have Vin Baker, Ray Allen, Sterling Sharpe (though I taped a piece of paper that said "RISON" over the name for awhile) and a Greg Vaughn shirt. I also have a Chmura jersey, and have wanted to buy jersies of John Jaha, Dave Nilsson, Bob Hamelin, Terrell Buckley, and TJ Rubley.

When going to football events, I rock one of my Rashaan Salaam, Curtis Enis, or Cade McNown jerseys. This came in handy during the Super Bowl last year, when nobody could tell me that I was hopping on the bandwagon.

Wearing an obscure jersey is a sign of a sense of humor. Go to the game with your bud, one sporting a Royster and the other a DeJean.

Show up with a Sheffield and a gold grill.

Or tweak your section with a Molitor Blue Jays, Yount D-Backs or Cooper Astros jersey.

It's supposed to be fun. . .don't worry about whether you fit in or not. . .

Jose Hernandez would be on my list - number one with a bullet.

As I commented on this to the S.O. just now, he said that Jose must have somehow swung and missed, to not get on the list.

You'd be surprised to see what the Brewers were selling at the On Deck rummage sale in April. I don't remember seeing a Lopes, but the selection was an entertaining parade of also-rans and never-weres.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I find it amusing anyone notices what others wear...fashion is not my thing, I barely would notice any shirt choice.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
