  1. Ashby has done this once this season, with good results I admit, but this just feels like doing something to do it. Do we have any idea how Priester will react to doing this? Anything to mess with his head isn't a good thing. The way it seems, he knows he's coming in, but not sure when. What if Ashby struggles, makes it through 2/3 of an inning and Priester comes in at that time? I just don't like messing with a formula that has been working all season, but we shall see. Hopefully, I'm worrying about nothing, and this all works out, but if it doesn't, Murphy deserves to be criticized. Here's hoping Ashby goes 2 innings, dominates, and Priester comes in and does his thing.
  2. How many games has Ashby been the opener/starter for the Brewers this season?
  3. Agreed, I don't know why the playoffs is a time to try new stuff, and this seems like it could backfire. It's like Counsell starting Boyd on 3 days rest, how did that work out? I'd start Priester, then go to Ashby if necessary later. I don't like messing with what has got us here. I want nothing more than to be wrong, but this just seems like Murphy is doing something different just to be doing something different.
  4. Ok, this is getting dumb. I don't want to tie him down to the Brewers, I want the Brewers to cut ties, and go with someone else. Someone that honestly cares about the Brewers and knows their stuff. I like regular tv guys, not fill-ins and substitutes. Not commenting anymore on this. Like I said earlier, I might be the only one here who thinks this, and I'm cool with that.
  5. My complaint is for regular season games, not the playoffs.
  6. yup But like I said, he isn't the Brewers announcer any longer, just a fill in that we see once in a while. The Brewers need to get back to some consistency with their TV guys, I like hearing the same guys for 90% of the season, not a new mixed up pair every single game. Probably just me, and I'm cool with that.
  7. Was it not his choice to sign contracts that pull him off Brewers broadcasts? BA is no longer a Brewer announcer, he's a guy who shows up occasionally to call Brewers games, nothing more.
  8. Please... Where on earth did you come up with that? Ridiculous.
  9. Not his choice? I beg to differ. The Brewers are just his side gig now. He isn't nearly as informative as he used to be. You can tell he is just reading off his notes that have been handed to him by some producer or what not, and doesn't have the feel for the Brewers as a team like he used to. He used to be great, now I'd rather not have him at all...
  10. Too bad Hoskins was basically ignored once he came off the IL, and probably just isn't up to speed to be thrown into the playoffs. At minimum, Hoskins should have been getting at least semi regular at bats for just this reason.(even 2-3 starts a week would have been better than almost nothing) No in game at bats doesn't make him to enticing for me personally.

  12. Jackson Chourio (hamstring) told reporters after Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday that his early exit due to hamstring tightness was a precautionary measure. Chourio noted that he feels good and that he’s happy the Brewers came away with a victory on Saturday. The dynamic 21-year-old suffered the injury while legging out an infield single in the second inning on Saturday. The built in off-day plays to his advantage here as he should be ready to roll for Game 2 on Monday evening against the Cubs. 29m ago Source: Adam McCalvy
  13. Nah, they just got thumped... You are trying too hard for the negative spin that doesn't exist.
  14. Your superiority in fandom humbles me.
  15. Cubs’ manager Craig Counsell announced Friday that left-hander Matthew Boyd will start on short rest in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Brewers on Saturday. The 34-year-old southpaw allowed just one run over 4 1/3 innings against the Padres on Tuesday and was extremely efficient — throwing only 58 pitches before giving way to the bullpen. He also warmed up in the bullpen during the ninth inning of Game 3 on Thursday, which could be treated as his usual side session. Either way, it would be surprising to see him work much deeper than he did on Tuesday when battling the Brewers on Saturday. The 34-year-old southpaw held a 7.84 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and a 5/8 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings in two starts against the Brewers during the regular season. He’ll be going up against Brewers’ ace Freddy Peralta. Source: Bruce Levine
  16. Cabrera would be an interesting get with our pitching lab, but he has been nothing but disappointing compared to his pedigree. At this point, I'm not sure I'd trade Patrick straight up for him. :) I definitely wouldn't trade Quero straight up for Cabrera, much less throw in Patrick. I couldn't care less what we do with Mitchell, not a chance this guy is ever going to pan out, I'd rather pawn him off an another team and let them pretend he's going to be a difference maker some day.
  17. I can just see it, game 5, Brewers up 2-1, and in comes Miz. Will be a total crapshoot, with the outcome probably no better than 50/50. UGH! I just really hope Murphy knows when to hold 'em, and knows when to fold 'em, or it will be a LONG off season for the kid...
  18. For me personally, this Cubs series IS the World Series as far as I'm concerned. This is huge, big, monstrous! We win this series, then the next one is the World Series! We win that one, and the actual World Series is next, but like I said, for me, this Cubs series = the World Series, because we can't get to the real one without taking Counsell out first! It's HUUUUUGE!
  19. Of course it isn't, but bases loaded with NO outs is a hell of a lot different than bases loaded with 1 out, which is what happened. Especially down by two runs. You can't pin it on that alone, obviously, but that made a HUGE GIGANTIC difference in the possible outcome of that game. No matter how you look at it, that was a horrendous screw job by that home plate umpire, that may have had a detrimental effect on that outcome. We'll never know...
  20. Hmmmmm I think I probably would have pulled the trigger on a Made and The Miz for Crochett.
  21. My guess is that we will get not one single player from the OP post. Not even one of them...
  22. Wait, what? Bichette is a better SS than Ortiz? You mean offensively, right?
  23. It's hard to stay hungry...
