After watching the last 10 minutes of the Arizona / Kansas game, I believe there is, subconsciously, home cooking by the refs. That isn't why Arizona lost, but it fits into the discussion.

Would Giannis be willing to rebuild? For example, fire sale on everyone but Giannis. Not sure if the number of picks they would get back would be worth it, though. When they showed Bobby P on the bench last night, something just didn't look right. He was staring off and not really interacting with anyone. I tried to find it on the broadcast, but couldn't find it. Not sure if there is something going on there.

Speaking of Matt Damon, I watched "The Rip" this weekend on Netflix. It was pretty good and kept you thinking. The last quarter of the movie was as expected.

I'm not sure how much work he needs, but I think he'll be on the roster at some point if he doesn't break camp on the roster.

I think the bottom line is that it is football. It is the most profitable and visible, so they have to have a different trophy. Before the current trophy, they had something that was much bigger with a crystal football at the top. I believe that was used during the BCS bowl era. Finally saw the new version of The Running Man. I really really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of the original movie and also Richard Bachman's story. I saw some of the same threads between the two movies. I was waiting for somebody to say, "Sign here, victim!"

During the onsides kick against the Bears, I figured Packers wouldn't recover if they had a guy with the oversized helmet on. You know... to take from the "boinking" against Seattle. As a side note, every time I see those helmets, I have this strange urge to play the Wii. Maybe it is because those helmets make players look like Mii avatars.

In the post game presser, Gard mentioned how Boyd is learning how to play off of two feet. He is becoming a more well-rounded player as opposed to putting down the shoulder and driving to the left side.

To add to the argument -- remember that over 50% of all luxury tax (Competitive Balance Tax, or CBT) goes to the players for pensions and benefits. There is also a $3.5MM off the top for player benefits. The remaining money goes into the Commission's discretionary pool. From my friend Copilot: Under the current MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement: A small fixed amount (e.g., the first ~$3.5 million each year) goes to player benefits (e.g., health plans, pensions). About 50 % of the remaining CBT revenue goes to player retirement accounts and other benefit plans. The other ~50 % of the remaining amount is placed in a Commissioner’s discretionary fund, which is then distributed to non-CBT teams (often small-market/revenue-sharing recipients) based on factors like local revenue growth. So if you break total CBT receipts down roughly: Player benefits & retirement — a majority of the net proceeds after the fixed first slice. Small-market/under-threshold teams — a share of the remaining CBT via the discretionary fund. This means players as a whole receive a significant portion of CBT revenue, often more than what small-market clubs receive directly. There is no way that the players will give up their 3.5M off the top nor the 50% of the luxury tax. Now, increase the revenue sharing? Baseball is screwed. I know two players who were in the minors. One of them was on track to make it to the majors while the other one needed help. They both ended up retiring because of heart conditions. What are they getting from this pool of money? Zero. Yes, they never played in the majors, but did participant in the baseball hierarchy. If a club is going to sign them, I would like to see them get some type of pension package, too. Since the players have so much money, perhaps they would share a pittance with those who were in the minors?

We don't get downtown too much to eat. We are trying to expand our horizons... Ann's Italian Restaurant in Hales Corners on 108th / Forest Home is very good. They have some of the best thin-crust pizza around, although it is pricy. The lasagna is awesome. Ricardo's in downtown Greendale is good, too. We have driven by it a lot, but haven't stopped there. I hear it is very good. We also like Los Mariachis Mexican restaurant on Layton just east of Loomis. Before that, we would go out of our way to hit Señor Luna in New Berlin on Calhoun by the railroad tracks. That had / has been a staple for a very long time. Some pricier steakhouse options are Carnivore downtown, and the Steakout on Loomis and College in Greendale. Both remind me of Flemings in Brookfield, or Morton's found nowhere in Milwaukee. I would put Carnivore at the top of the list. We might need to have a separate thread for wings... 😉

Same here... and my lawn is in major shambles. Sod in piles, holes in the ground where they shouldn't be. If they are not going to fix it in the spring / summer, I'll take 10 years of 1G fiber to compensate... 🤔
