  1. Franklin out at Penn State… https://www.pennlive.com/pennstatefootball/2025/10/penn-state-fires-coach-james-franklin-after-3-3-start-to-2025-season.html?outputType=amp
  2. I really wish Anderson could make more competitive pitches when he misses the zone. He is either in the zone or two feet outside. Tobias would be more consistent and could give you more length.
  3. Sure... I'm a fair weather fan. The problem is we have seen this story soooooo many times. I'm sorry that I got excited about this team. I should have figured the noose would tighten up.
  4. No... this is Freddie being Freddie. I'm not surprised.
  5. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm going to try and relax. Stick to the plan. Get the starter out of there early and go to hitting.
  6. I had seem some YouTube videos from 670 the score. It seems like they, along with some of the fans, are not as tough on Counsell as one would think. The theme is that the front office isn't coming up with good players and making bad decisions. The big difference is that the Brewers are finding players and developing them. Murphy used a term that I had not heard before, "Cliffhangers." These are players that don't know if their name will be on the locker the next day. I don't think every player needs to be a cliffhanger, obviously, because Contreras and Yelich are not cliffhangers. Hmmm... I'm sure Civale didn't think he was a cliffhanger... Now, Counsell isn't off the hook. The Justin Turner move on Monday reminded me a little bit of Jessie Winker. Mind you, I think Turner is a better person that Winker, but similar logic applies.
  7. Point of order... Wouldn't it be Señor Octubre? 😉
  8. I don’t think Murphy is going to try and overthink this thing. Go with your horses to get this win even if you are up by eight runs. I think Counsell over thought things a little bit by going with a starter on three days rest and look where that got him.
  9. Every year, these guys have Jerry Augustine and Jeff Grayson. to talk Brewers. Just a bunch of guys chatting about the upcoming Brewers / Cubs series. I put in a couple of formats... hopefully it works.
  10. I think the Bichette injury is going to hurt the Jays a lot more than people think.
  11. If this is the case, then I will be OK with it. I want to see them grind and leave it all on the field.
  12. I have lived in Wisconsin all of my life. I remember going to Atlanta 30 years ago for two weeks and seeing advertisements for Atlanta Falcons tickets. What? I am very naive living in Wisconsin for well over 50 years. When I see players talk about how fans in Milwaukee handle things, the culture, and the city, I think to myself, "Eh... everyone says stuff like that, especially when things are going well." Giannis, for the most part, says the same thing. Don Sutton said, "I honestly think every player should have the opportunity of playing at least one year in Milwaukee. The people there were great to me. It's a real baseball town." I, personally, don't know how true that is. Sure, we all get sick when the Brewers get so close and lose. I'll even put the Badgers in that light, too. If it is true, I don't ever want it to change. I want players to come to Milwaukee (and Wisconsin) because it is not only a great organization, but the people of this city understand it is not life or death.
  13. How about this? I have a feeling that there have been some marketing things with the Brewers that have caused them to lose their focus. Perhaps Murphy needs to talk to Rick Schlesinger and say, “I’m done with these appearances.“ After this weekend, they need to focus on nothing but baseball. Your skipper needs to set the example and the Brewers have turned into more of a marketing joke over the last couple weeks. Murphy will level set the Brewers and they will come out firing next weekend.
  14. The defense by Iowa on the last Indiana TD was so… Iowa.
  15. @BrewerFan -- I could simply give an "Amen" to everything you outlined. There were guys that wanted to stay at Wisconsin because, as you stated, there was unfinished business. I truly believe they need to bring in a Wisconsin guy to rebuild the program. That would be somebody who was "raised" within the program. That obviously doesn't guarantee success. Chryst was a good coordinator -- he was even being recruited to be a coordinator at Dallas. For whatever reason, Chryst either lost the passion, or was seriously incapable of continuing the tradition and the brand. What Wisconsin needs is somebody who believes in Wisconsin. When I brought up "putting a wall around the state," people said there wasn't enough talent in the state. Putting up a wall around the state isn't only about making sure the talent stays in the state, but it is about building up pride or the brand in the state. That takes hard work, too. The results might not be immediately tangible. I am also disappointed by what Barry said, but understood why he said it. Yes, the players are negatively affected by the boos. However, that can be addressed by Fickell by getting kids who want to play at Wisconsin because it is Wisconsin. I know that is tough, but you build up additional relationships with schools in, say, New Jersey. Many kids may come from Wisconsin, but you will get additional players -- high talent guys -- to come because it is Wisconsin. When Fickell talked about his "300 mile radius," he should have prefaced it with, "The state of Wisconsin is still the program's top priority. Along with that, I want to strengthen the relationships with coaches within a 300 mile radius." Oh well...
  16. A regular outfielder gets to the first “double”. Bauers did not take a good angle nor did he bust it the entire path.
  17. Indiana doesn't have to play Ohio State nor Michigan. Get past Oregon and Penn State and they will be a playoff team.
