  1. Won't even make it to the Brewers who are at 25th as of today.
  2. He has absolutely sucked this year a 78 WRc+ means he has absolutely sucked this year regardless of how well he has hit lefties. Overall he has absolutely sucked this year. His advanced stats back this all up as he is bottom of the league in nearly everything outside of defense.
  3. Not really as he doesn't even have enough batted balls to even register anything of importance. I would expect all of his stats to be worse than Anderson or at the best about the same. He sucks it would be trading one turd sandwich for another turd sandwich.
  4. Again the Yankees waived two players who have absolutely sucked this year. Teams do this all the time it will not exclude them from picking someone up.
  5. So replace a turd sandwich with another turd sandwich?
  6. Just because they dropped Donaldson why would that have any impact on picking up someone like Giolito? Donaldson has sucked horribly this year it is surprising they have kept him for this long.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if he does but I am not expecting it to happen. As of today the Brewers would be 25th. The teams that could benefit from this are the Yankees, Marlins, Reds, Giants, Twins, Red Sox, Dbacks and the Cubs. All of these teams have a higher priority than the Cubs. The Cubs are 20th in the order so it is possible one player gets to them but unlikely. The Yankees and Reds need pitching so I don't think Giolito gets past them or past the Giants or Red Sox. Miami could use another bat so Renfroe or Grichuk make some sense for them. The Twins could use a bullpen arm so Moore makes some sense there also. The Giants could also benefit from Giolito as he would fill a rotation hole. I expect all of the players to get picked up before some of the current playoff leaders even get to pick. I think we can expect a rule change this off season to deal with this just not sure what they are going to do.
  8. That wasn't pointed at you mostly just disappointed this has to be posted every year to clarify. The rules haven't changed in a long time either other than going from 25 to 26.
  9. I can't remember which version but if I played up to a certain year the game would always crash probably has to do with how they calculate years is my guess.
  10. Since this gets asked every year I will just leave this here for everyone https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility
  11. Sigh every year this gets asked about postseason eligibility and this hasn't changed in a long time. Here are the rules for postseason eligibility: https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility
  12. He wouldn't need to do a rehab if he is just going to be a pinch runner in September.
  13. I think it will be Hiura and Winker with Mitchell replacing Wiemer and Lauer/Ashby replacing Chafin. Mitchell is probably your pinch runner with Hiura and Winker being late inning off the bench bats. I don’t see much playing time for Hiura as Yelich, Contreras, Canha and Tellez are all going to get games at DH. That leaves maybe one game a week for Hiura/Winker to start as the DH.
  14. Going to bump this up just watched episode 5 and this was the best episode. The story is really interesting and I just love it. If you are looking for a show to watch and you like wrestling then you have to watch this.
  15. Cowboys trade a 4th round pick to the 49ers for Trey Lance. https://sports.yahoo.com/breaking-49ers-trade-qb-trey-232228303.html
  16. Unless his offense drops off by a lot he still has enough value at DH to be worth the contract through his first five years. I think he probably only pitches for half of his contract so about five years. I don't think his offense will fall off all that much. I think he will have a career trajectory closer to what Barry Bonds was having from '95-'99 for his 30-35 age season. I think he may fall off after 35 but I don't think it will be a steep decline maybe he only hits 25-30 HR's a year from age 36-38 and then be basically replacement level for the last two or three years of his contract. Pitching wise he is probably on the same trajectory as Verlander. Somehow Verlander has gotten better as he has aged kind of like Nolan Ryan well except for this year that is. If you take the conservative route of Ohtani being a 35-40 HR player for his age 30-35 seasons and then only pitching for three years of his next contract and he puts up a 3.50 ERA for those three years you have basically received nearly all of his contract worth in the first five years of the contract. Probably close to 60-70% of the contracts value just in the first five years and that is not even counting the other value that Ohtani would bring in.
  17. I believe the and should be a or in their list at least that is how I read it as.
  18. Yes, as long as the player starts the year on the team you can offer a QO and get draft pick compensation.
  19. Feels like Burnes is always giving up a big hit to some no named scrub player hitting .200 or below.
  20. Most of the players named I am not sure the Mets would have had much interest in them. Nimmo is playing great in CF so cross off Frelick. They have Baty at 3B in the minors again so unless they thought Black was a 2B that crosses Black off the list. They have a young catcher in Alvarez on their MLB roster now so Quero makes no sense here either. That leaves Misiorowski as the only prospect that would be of interest to the Mets not named Chourio as a headliner. If the Mets saw Misiorowski as a starting pitcher I don't see how they pass on him as the headliner for an Alonso trade. I am going to assume they don't see him as a starter and more as a reliever. I just don't think the Brewers prospects lined up all that well with the Mets. It is probably why the deal didn't go all that far. The Brewers didn't have what the Mets wanted in return for Alonso.
  21. I think you could remove Black, Frelick and Quero from the list. Well Black maybe if they thought he was more of a 2B than a 3B. Quero and Frelick don't make much sense for the Mets with Alvarez and Nimmo in NY already. I think this is more of a the Brewers didn't have a prospect that played the right position for the Mets to make the move. Obviously Chourio would have been a yes from the Mets but he wasn't in the discussion. Baty is also possibly another reason why the Mets wouldn't want Black. Maybe the Mets also see Misiorowski as a relief pitcher and not a starter which would lower his value a lot. I find it hard that the Mets wouldn't have traded Alonso for Misiorowski and another piece unless they didn't believe he was a starting pitcher.
  22. Still waiting on that Cardinals run that was supposed to happen.
