  1. Still waiting for the mythical "easy" part of the schedule for the Cubs to pass the Brewers to happen.
  2. He went 12-18 against ranked opponents. That is horrible for the program he was given. If he continued to coach his record would have went even lower. Probably looking at something like 12-25 or there about. Yes PC sucked and he was a bad coach. You have to do more than win in college football especially in a major conference. PC couldn't recruit and the majority of his best recruits were guys that were already there. He took a good football program and turned it into a snowball going to hell. His final 3-years he absolutely decimated the football program by refusing to recruit anyone. He was absolutely lazy and pathetic at recruiting. He is the reason this program is faltering as much it has been. Bielema set him up really good for his first three years.
  3. I think it was longer than his last two seasons. It felt like he quit after Mertz committed. After Mertz committed there was barely any recruiting going on if any at all. Leonhard didn’t help either on the defensive side of things when it came to recruiting. The death kneel of this program was losing Bielema and then going to Anderson and then to PC. PC was just a bad hire from the beginning. He was unwilling to move players around on offense and refused to change his game plan when it wasn’t working and then when something was working in the pass game it would all of a sudden just disappear never to be ran again because that wasn’t WI football. He had a great TE in Ferguson but refused to play him off of the OL. PC is a great D3 coach but an absolutely awful major conference coach.
  4. I still believe Fickell has at least one more year and possibly two. The Badgers are still trying to dig themselves out of the hole PC left them in. If they could have kept Bielema that would have been the best outcome. All UW had to do was pay the coordinators more. UW definitely could have afforded that.
  5. Would be nice if the OL could stay healthy for more than a half of a quarter.
  6. Not sure what Geoff Jenkins has to do with the Brewers.
  7. Kershaw also had a phew seasons where the ball was deadened but also a few years where the ball was lively. So not exactly sure how that would impact his career if at all. I don’t believe the deadened ball or the more lively ball from 2016-2019 are even adjusted in the advanced stats.
  8. Luis Robert should be a primary DH to keep him healthy. I wouldn’t classify him as a full time OF. If the White Sox release him I would be very interested and maybe he could have a comeback season. If he gets cut I don’t believe he will get a huge contract but it won’t be at the league minimum either.
  9. It is 50% more innings than the previous year which would be about 146 innings this year. So one more start and then a bullpen game for Misio before the playoffs. The 50% more is mostly a guideline and when teams start to watch the pitcher for any signs of wearing down.
  10. Durbin on being traded to the Brewers. https://www.mlb.com/video/caleb-durbin-on-being-traded-to-the-brewers-more
  11. You would have to convince the Angels to trade them and Adell is nothing special. Basically you would have to give them Chourio, Miz, Turang and Frelick for Neto then Made, Pena and Quero for Adell. The Angels are not interested in trading anyone really.
  12. I think the biggest question mark for the Brewers next year is backup catcher. Do they go with Quero as the backup catcher or do they want him to play everyday in AAA. I am not sure what Quero has to prove in AAA other than staying healthy.
  13. Did they change the kicking footballs? The ball seems to be moving in weird ways. Almost like it has some late movement.
  14. https://www.mlb.com/news/bob-uecker-with-brewers-in-spirit-celebrating-playoff-berth? That letter reads weird but ok.
  15. Yes but they also need to at least push the line forward a bit and not be so stagnant. The DT on one play got absolutely destroyed on one play that was a passing play.
  16. I am not sure how much playing time Dinges will get as Mitchell is the #3 rated catching prospect over at MLB Pipeline. Dinges is definitely the #2 catcher on that team. Adam McCalvy has an article up on Josh Adamczewski and it looks like he will be an OF going forward in the Brewers system. With Pena, Made and Pratt already in the INF that makes sense to move him to the OF. https://www.mlb.com/news/josh-adamczewski-continues-outfield-transition-for-brewers-in-arizona-fall-league?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  17. As LouisEly has stated money. UW may not be able to give out a contract like a Michigan or Ohio State but they can still give out a big payday. If you are going to replace Fickell you better get someone who is better than him and not a mid major college coach who won't be better than who you are replacing. You don't want the recruiting to suffer and under Fickell the recruiting has been far better than it was under PC. Going from Bielema to Anderson and then to PC really killed the Badgers recruiting. Anderson wasn't all that bad at recruiting it is just he couldn't get the recruits he wanted due to UW's academic requirements. PC wasn't good at recruiting and you can see that in last years team and during PC's last year. PC is the reason this program is in the trouble it is in. I will say this again he should have been fired one or two years earlier when he first started showing he wasn't interested in recruiting. The Badgers lost out on so many good recruits because PC decided he didn't want to do recruiting anymore. Leonhard was starting to do the same. Neither PC or Leonhard were big on doing the recruiting part of the job they just wanted the HC position and nothing more. In college you can't do that you need to be able to recruit players. You just can't be the HC and that is it. It doesn't work like that in college football. If you want to do that then go to a Conference USA, MAC, WAC or go coach in the D3. You can't expect to just be a head coach in division one football in a major conference. So if you want to go with someone like Jason Eck then the Badgers football program needs to move out of the Big Ten. You can't stay in the Big Ten and hire someone like Jason Eck or someone like Leonhard (who doesn't want to recruit). You just can't do that you have to find someone who can recruit and can change with the times.
  18. No thanks he looks to be an Anderson or PC level HC. Strong pass on him.
  19. No but I thought they play a little bit better. The refs really swallowed those flags in the 4th quarter a lot of roughing the passer calls should have been made against Alabama in the 3rd and 4th quarter. A few that were similar to the one they called against WI in the first half.
