  1. Banking on Sogard to be a contributor to the 2018 offense will put us back in the 70 win range. The dude cannot hit. And any lineup that starts with Arica/Phillips IMO makes no sense to me. They might be our two most inconsistent hitters in our lineup next season if what we have stays exactly the same. Heck, leading off Braun makes more sense than doing that.
  2. What will be more frustrating is if he somehow figured it out.
  3. ... and only playing 8 conference games as opposed to 9... Sadly I agree. Why even toy with the possibility of a loss? Just sweep the west and try to finally win a big ten championship game and they’ll get in most likely.
  4. Agreed. I’m hoping to see a little bit of a transformation of the offense next year. Let those young bucks help us control the clock and keep Rodgers upright more.
  5. Makes me dispise college football. If the Badgers stink I wouldn’t watch much if at all.
  6. After letting it settle a bit, I’m disappointed in our tackling on the outside last night and that our offensive line didn’t take care of their business. I would like nothing more than a Bama or USC matchup.
  7. I know it’s great to make it to Indy on basically a yearly basis but boy does it expose us each year. So disappointing. Oh and this might not all be on Hornibrook but he is no good.
  8. You don’t understand why Brewers fans would like a player who has put up good numbers over multiple years as a Brewer? Seems odd.
  9. Oliver Drake still holds a roster spot but we couldn’t make room for Hughes. Dumb.
  10. Another deal you have to be pretty happy about. Well done.
  11. Christmas Vacation is my favorite leading up to the day but I enjoy watching Christmas Story for like 22 of the 24 hours on the actual day.
  12. For what it's worth.
  13. Getting excited about the game. Can't wait to be done with school tomorrow and drive over to Indy!
  14. Stanton in the NL West = 40-45 homers. Stanton in the AL East = 55+ homers. He should go to Boston or NYY and put up video game numbers and build his brand. He could then come back and buy the Marlins from Jeter if he wanted.
  15. I have zero confidence we will be able to count on Nelson this season, in any way... It would be prudent on our part to go into the season with no plans of Nelson being in the rotation. If he comes back, so be it, there are always injuries to others, etc. I don't want to derail the thread too much but has there been more to come out on his recovery from surgery that makes it a longer process than originally thought? I was under the impression that it wasn't a full year type of a process but I could be way off base with it.
  16. I just think about how much backlash would come from a deal to NYY because of Jeter. It would look way too much like he was dealing an all-time great power hitter back to his team he played for.
  17. I don't think this is a fair characterization. There are some that believe Archer is a TOR type of pitcher when looking deeper into this stats. I'm not saying I agree with that but pitching always trumps a position player if this were to be the case.
  18. I'd welcome him back if it doesn't take much to get him. He could be a great candidate for our rotation to hopefully get us to Nelson at the midway point (fingers crossed).
  19. Thanks for putting this together. I wasn't saying Manaea is Davies clone but just that his numbers were very similar. I'm lazy...
  20. Hmmm don’t see it all, completely different pitchers. Frames completely different Manaea 6’5 245 Lefty Davies 6’0 (maybe) 155 Righty Manaea sits 92-93 for average Davies 90 Manaea was a K monster in minors 28+% 10+ per 9 who tends to walk 8% or 3+ per 9 Davies is command contact pitcher who has low Ks but doesn’t walk many. Manaea was always projected as frontline headliner.... Davies back end craft guy. Idk don’t see it at all. Manaea as all the talent to be at TOR guy but still learning to find success at this level & be as dominant as he was in minors. Davies is consistent at what he does but I would never say he’s TOR talent. He is who he is. Good breakdown. I honestly just saw the numbers and Davies popped in my head. I looked at stat lines and they were pretty similar numbers wise. Maybe they are not the same pitchers but so far they’ve been similar in getting the jobs done. Maybe that says more about Davies than Manaea.
  21. What a strange comparison. I don't see that one at all. I'd deal Brinson in the right trade, but this isn't it. Phillips and/or Ray? Sure. Have you looked through their stat lines? Minors and majors? Advanced stats and all. Very close in numbers and close in age.
  22. Fair enough. I would argue that college football is the most popular "minor league" in the country. The bowl system actually works well for the most part in its main purpose--generating TV ratings. This is the case because the teams tend to be evenly-matched and they don't have much competition during those weeknight prime time slots. They serve a better purpose than a 1 vs 16 game. How much are those tv ratings driven by putting them on over holidays when people all sit around and watch tv and nothing else is on?
  23. Manaea = Zach Davies.
  24. Jesus. Bad day?!? You asked a question and two of us answered. You must be on a war path to changing people’s minds today.
