  1. Man, if they push Yophery to Carolina that could be a really fun lineup between him, Pratt, Bitonti, O’Rae, Baez and then guys like Satchell Norman and maybe even Reece Walling that’ll be getting bumped up too.
  2. Yeah, there have only been 30 qualified seasons with at least 60 SB since 1991. Might see it more with the new rules/bigger bases. A few guys got close though, 1991 Rickey (18/58), 2006 Crawford (18/58), 2006 Reyes (19/64) and (drumroll please) 2016 Villar (19/62).
  3. Eric Davis went 27/80 in 1986 and then 37/50 in 1987. Rickey has a few too. 24/80 in 1985, 28/87 in 1986, 28/65 in 1990.
  4. I’m seeing him at #16 on your ballot. Double hallucination.
  5. Yeah, Frelick (#15) and Wilken (#18) are the highest picks on the list.
  6. Scanning through everyone’s lists this feels like one of the more consensus votes we’ve had. A few ballots ended up at 20/20, and most only differed by like one or two at the end. Wouldn’t be surprised if there were 12 or 13 guys that were on every list.

  8. There are 698 individual Brewer seasons with at least 150 PA, the closest I could find to Monasterio on a rate basis are... Andruw 2023 (176 PA) 116 wRC+ 122 BB%+ | 86 K%+ | 115 AVG+ | 114 OBP+ | 99 SLG+ Seitzer 1995 (570 PA) 115 wRC+ 117 BB%+ | 65 K%+ | 115 AVG+ | 115 OBP+ | 99 SLG+ Seitzer 1996 (577 PA) 117 wRC+ 132 BB%+ | 75 K%+ | 114 AVG+ | 116 OBP+ | 102 SLG+ Loretta 1998 (491 PA) 116 wRC+ 95 BB%+ | 58 K%+ | 117 AVG+ | 113 OBP+ | 100 SLG+ Loretta is close, but he didn't walk or strikeout nearly as often and singled a little more. From what Andruw has done in a small sample this year, Kevin Seitzer with more athleticism might be the closest we've seen to Monasterio in a Brewers uniform.
  9. Hey @Brock Beauchamp, for some reason this article keeps coming up first on my Unread Content feed, even though I've read it now, I swear!! Maybe something in the article settings or something?
  10. Saw the score and that it was a completion of a postponed game, so I figured I'd leave that one to the professional re-cappers,
  11. DSL2 prevails 6-3 over the Braves. Demetrio Nadal (1-1, BBx2, HBPx2, SBx2) filling up the box score while Pedro Ibarguen also went 1-4 with a double and stolen base. Christopher Vaszquez homered for the fifth time bringing his line to 203/370/531 on the season with 34 K | 10 BB and 7 HBP in only 81 PAs so far. Vivan Los Tres Resultados Verdades! Luis Guevara had a nice start at 5 IP | 1 R | 5 H | 0 BB | 4 K while Lenin Mendez followed up in relief with 3.2 IP | 1 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 7 K.
  12. Since losing their 6th game in a row on June 14th to fall to five hundred at 34-34, the Brewers have gone 31-20 in the two months since. Only the Braves (33-16) and Dodgers (32-16) have a better record since 6/16 with the Orioles matching the Brewers at 31-20. Team wRC+ has been 92 over that stretch. Hardly world beating, but a notable step up from the 79 wRC+ they posted from 4/21 through 6/14 while going 20-29 after starting the season 14-5.
  13. With about seven weeks to go and the Brewers kicking off a tough stretch of games leading into the Cubs series thought I'd take a snapshot of where things stand in the NL race as of now. Format is Team (FanGraphs Playoff% | BPro Playoff%)... ATL (100% | 100%) LAD (100% | 100%) PHI (85.2% | 86.7%) MIL (84.4% | 80.4%) CHI (54.5% | 68.9%) SFG (61.6% | 56.9%) MIA (54.0% | 43.5%) SDP (17.7% | 35.9%) CIN (24.4% | 14.9%) ARI (16.5% | 10.5%)
  14. Nice to see the aggressive Lara ranking. Profile reads like a teenaged, switch hitting Frelick.
  15. Both are deserving, but I would probably lean Bellinger at this point just because he was so much worse than Yelich over the preceding seasons.
  16. Strikeouts raining down in AZ tonight as Daniel Corniel (8 K | 5 IP), Manuel Rodriguez (6 K | 3 IP) and Bayden Root (2 K | 1 IP) combined for 16 punch outs in a 2-1 Brewers victory. Cooper Pratt (2-4, SB), Juan Baez (1-3, BB), Alejandro Rodriguez (1-3, 2B, BB), and Miguel Briceno (2-4) all reached twice on offense.
  17. Shears is for sure on the radar but the 31 BB | 9 HBP | 13 WP in 41 IP are what kept him off for now.
  18. DSL1 falls 3-2 in extra innings with Yophery Rodriguez (1-3, BB) and Luis Garcia (1-3, 2B, BB) both reaching twice while Eric Prado worked around 7 H | 2 BB to only allow 1 R over 4 IP with 4 K. Gabriel Colmenarez also pitched well with 4 IP | 1 R | 0 H | 3 BB | 3 K. DSL2 loses too, 4-0, with Pedro Ibarguen (1-2, BB) the only batter to reach multiple times while Aneuris Rodriguez struck out six and walked none over his four frames while allowing three hits and one earned run.
  19. The stadium district is responsible for the AmFam repairs, not Mark A. If Yelich waived his NTC, and if the Brewers found a trade partner willing to take on his entire contract, I would hope that money saved would be re-invested in the payroll.
  20. Looks like Lara will be the second youngest player in the Midwest League after Ethan Salas.
  21. The Padres are perfectly positioned for the ALL IN offseason of ALL TIME. Hader, record setting reliever contract...check. Soto, record setting pre-FA extension...check. and, the coup de grace, OHTANI. That outlay would only set Seidler back like one point a couple two tree billion. Cohen would be so rattled.
  22. Here is a super long post with a bunch of guys I didn't vote for, but still find intriguing, separated by position, then ordered by personal preference within each grouping. Call it a follow list, call it #21 through number whatever, call it a massive waste of time, but whichsoever way, here it is (all stats through Aug 12)... POSITION PLAYERS Dylan O'Rae 2B/CF with 356/514/400 (152 wRC+) over 183 PA at ACL/A, age 19. 21.9 BB% | 12.6 K% | 28/2 SB/CS Juan Baez SS/3B with 389/411/594 (144 wRC+) over 185 PA at ACL, age 18. 3.2 BB% | 10.8 K% | 17/2 SB/CS Filippo Di Turi SS/2B with 299/415/377 (122 wRC+) over 200 PA at DSL, age 17. 15.0 BB% | 15.0 K% | Isaac Collins LF/2B with 273/432/435 (138 wRC+) over 273 PA at AA/AAA, age 25. 20.9 BB% | 15.0 K% | 22/7 SB/CS Freddy Zamora SS/2B with 268/367/387 (106 wRC+) over 332 PA at AA, age 24. 12.3 BB% | 20.2 K% | 14/3 SB/CS Demetrio Nadal 3B/LF with 316/457/520 (158 wRC+) over 129 PA at DSL, age 18. 15.5 BB% | 10.9 K% | 27/6 SB/CS Cam Devanney SS/3B/2B with 257/351/473 (103 wRC+) over 285 PA at AAA, age 26. 11.6 BB% | 16.8 K% | Patrick Dorrian 3B/1B with 263/343/545 (113 wRC+) over 289 PA at AAA, age 27. 10.0 BB% | 27.0 K% Ernesto Martinez 1B with 275/355/453 (128 wRC+) over 292 PA at A+/AA, age 24. 9.2 BB% | 19.5 K% | 13/5 SB/CS Jose Sibrian Catcher with 297/379/509 (149 wRC+) over 190 PA at A, age 24. 8.4 BB% | 15.8 K% | 46/25 SB/CS (35.2 CS%) on defense (obviously age relative to league skews things major, especially on offense, but looks like the kind of guy that could hang around for a long time as a glove first backup) Satchell Norman C/DH with 306/423/482 (129 wRC+) over 104 PA at ACL, age 20. 16.3 BB% | 24.0 K% | Pedro Ibarguen DH/CF/2B with 304/444/402 (137 wRC+) over 144 PA at DSL, age 16. 16.0 BB% | 19.4 K% Brian Sanchez LF/RF with 301/419/462 (133 wRC+) over 117 PA at DSL, age 18. 16.2 BB% | 18.8 K% | 8/4 SB/CS PITCHERS Patricio Aquino RHP with 2.82 ERA (4.30 FIP) over 70.1 IP at A, age 20. 24.9 K% | 9.7 BB% | 0.77 HR/9 Jesus Rivero RHP with 3.21 ERA (3.51 FIP) over 33.2 IP at ACL/A, age 20. 36.2 K% | 13.0 BB% | 0.27 HR/9 Max Lazar RHP with 3.03 ERA (3.00 FIP) over 59.1 IP at A+/AA, age 24. 25.3 K% | 6.9 BB% | 0.46 HR/9 Ryan Brady RHP with 2.88 ERA (3.05 FIP) over 65.2 IP at A+/AA, age 24. 22.2 K% | 6.3 BB% | 0.27 HR/9 Shane Smith RHP with 2.06 ERA (2.48 FIP) over 48.0 IP at A/A+, age 23. 37.1 K% | 8.6 BB% | 0.94 HR/9 Nate Peterson LHP with 3.50 ERA (3.42 FIP) over 54.0 IP at A/A+, age 23. 28.0 K% | 9.9 BB% | 0.50 HR/9 Clayton Andrews LHP with 2.51 ERA (3.62 FIP) over 43.0 IP at AAA, age 26. 31.9 K% | 13.7 BB% | 0.63 HR/9 Justin King LHP with 3.04 ERA (2.36 FIP) over 26.2 IP at A+, age 25. 42.0 K% | 15.1 BB% | 0.34 HR/9 Enniel Cortez RHP with 1.55 ERA (2.67 FIP) over 40.2 IP at DSL, age 17. 27.8 K% | 3.2 BB% | 0.22 HR/9 Melvin Hernandez RHP with 2.18 ERA (3.69 FIP) over 33.0 IP at DSL, age 16. 20.4 K% | 6.6 BB% | 0.27 HR/9 Anthony Flores LHP with 3.02 ERA (3.27 FIP) over 41.2 IP at DSL, age 18. 29.8 K% | 9.5 BB% | 0.22 HR/9 Eric Prado RHP with 1.64 ERA (4.27 FIP) over 33.0 IP at DSL, age 17. 23.3 K% | 10.9 BB% | 0.55 HR/9

  24. Checking the Nashville box like, “One hit?!? That’s all we got is one (ahem) hit?!?”
