  1. Costello strikes out a pair in a perfect ninth and that’s a wrap, 8-3 Carolina.
  2. Sequence of Areinamo double, Nicasia walk, Mercado fielders choice, wild pitch, Barrios ground out, nets the Mudcats two more runs top of nine. Chase Costello has thrown three perfect with three K in relief of Will Rudy and is on the mound to close things out.
  3. O’Rae 2B Pratt SS Bitonti 3B Boeve DH Norman C Barrios 1B Walling RF Briceno LF Medina CF is the lineup with Daniel Corniel on the mound for the AZ Brewers tonight,
  4. They didn’t stop there. Jadher stole third, then scored on a Reidy Mercado fielders choice to 1B. Reidy stole second and third, then scored on a Gregory Barrios fielders choice to 3B. Guessing both guys beat throws home? Either way, now 6-3 Mudcats middle seven.
  5. Another Dorrian bomb (106.3 MPH 420 feet to CF) has it 5-0 Sounds. Only thing on Gasser’s line through 3 IP is 4 K.
  6. Is it just me, or does it look like he has a little Sheffield action in his load where he snaps his wrists and whips the barrel forward pre-swing?
  7. Cubs are at 107 wRC+ (8th) and 5.14 R/G (5th), so offense has been driving the bus. They’ve also fielded well at +27 DRS (7th) and been good on the bases +8.9 BSR (4th). Rotation has been middle of the road at 7.1 rWAR (15th) while the bullpen has been slightly below average at -0.47 WPA (19th). BRef has Cubs at 11-13 in one run games and 26-14 in blowouts (5+ run difference) compared to 20-10 in one run games and 12-13 in blowouts for the Brewers. From there we can extrapolate the Cubs are 19-26 in games decided by two to four runs compared to 27-28 for the Brewers.
  8. He’s older, looks like a corner OF, didn’t get a huge bonus. Definitely a guy to keep an eye on, but maybe more of a Luis Castillo/Yeison Perez kind of profile?
  9. FanGraphs ranked the prospects traded at the deadline... Bradley Blalock (#15), Justin Jarvis (#23), Jhonny Severino (#27), Evan McKendry (#45)
  10. Yeah, think the profile lands closer to Rea than Junk on the depth starter spectrum.
  11. Was considering Baez for one of the last couple spots on my Top 20 ballot, but the fielding WOAHs and 2.7 BB% ended up just keeping him off for me.
  12. Put me down for the Isaac Collins bandwagon. Not sure he needs to be forty manned or if would get plucked in the Rule 5, but there is a lot to like in the profile between the plate discipline, speed and switch hitting. Only real knocks would appear to be that he’s limited to LF/2B and a lil old for AA.
  13. Every POUR IT ON started with but a drip.
  14. Depending how the season plays out, I’ll probably have him at the end of the Top 20 with Logan Henderson. T2: Misio T10: Gasser/Rodriguez/Knoth T20: Henderson/Blalock
  15. Yeah, looks like breakdown of Woodruffs hits were… 2B: 77.3 exit velo and 5 degree launch angle that went 82 ft to LF on a 95.6 MPH four seamer up out of the zone to LH hitter (opposite field shift aided double is my guess) 1B: 71.4 exit velo and 30 degree launch angle that went 247 ft to RF on an 89.4 MPH cutter off the plate to a RH batter (reached out and poked one the other way) 3B: 92.9 exit velo and 37 degree launch angle that went 361 ft to RF on an 88.1 MPH cutter just off the plate in and down (only real hard hit ball of the three, not a mistake center center but down in on a LH hitter is always dangerous)
  16. Not sure if this is new with the MiLB interface update, or something that is only available for certain AAA stadiums, but the game day feature is more detailed than I remember it being. Just scrolled through the 4th and it looked like velo was fine, mostly 95/96 on the four seam and sinker. Lead off walk who stole his way to third didn’t help, but looks like all three hits he gave up were actually on pitches outside the zone.
  17. Believe he already left the Tigers for the month of June dealing with some marital strife, probably didn’t want further exasperate whatever’s been going on,
  18. Woodruff with 3 IP | 1 BB | 3 K on 35 pitches so far in Nashville.
  19. Maybe Mark A can get Cohen to pay the AmFam maintenance bill in exchange for letting Arnold out of his contract?
  20. Santana is about $2.4M remaining, Mets picked up his salary minus the min but Brewers are on the hook for Canha’s $2M buyout, Chafin is another $2.5M at about $1.8M left in salary plus a 725K buyout. Sending out Urias saved about $1.6M.
  21. 6.4 on BRef, 4.4 on FanGraphs for 2021-22. Looks like the main difference is defense, BR has him at +13 fielding/position adjustment for those two years versus -5.9 at FG, mostly driven by OAA hating his innings at SS (-11).
  22. Think that’s definitely part of it. Change of scenery for Luis, get a talented arm back, offset some of the salary they acquired.
  23. Except their level of performance has been changing, rising and falling throughout the season… First 19 games (14-5): 103 wRC+ Next 49 games (20-29) 79 wRC+ Last 39 games (23-16) 92 wRC+ The arrow has been pointing up since they bottomed out after what was a perfectly cromulent start to the season. How will the offense fare over the final 55 games? I don’t know. If they revert to hitting around a 79 wRC+, they’re cooked. If they revert to hitting around a 103 wRC+, that would help considerably. If they stick around the 92 wRC+ they’ve been posting the last six weeks, it’ll probably be a dog fight down to the wire.
  24. Briceno single + O’Rae walk + Boeve single + Wilken single = 7-6 walk off win for the ACL Crew.
  25. True. But if those players were made available for negotiation (believe Arenado would only waive his NTC for LAD), the Brewers weren’t the only team unwilling to meet the ask.
