  1. I hope he's back with us next year. In the decision of whether to bring back Jimmy, Stearns needs to forget about what happened in June with regards to Jimmy Nelson. The decision on Nelson returning to Milwaukee or not needs to come from how Jimmy finishes out the season, what all the staff is seeing from him, and what they feel his future might be. If they were to let him go now that he's come this far, and he proceeds to have a good year with somebody else, that decision is going to stink like hot garbage. Basically what I'm saying is if you're Stearns, then if you don't bring back Jimmy you had better be very certain of what you are doing.
  2. I don’t know if the Brewers stay there ever but that Hilton right next to Ohare would make sense for the ease of getting in and out of that dump.
  3. It’s a tough spot to be in. His offense has plummeted, he’s been some unlucky, his defense is elite and he’s getting old. Moreover there are guys knocking for pt. I think that I’d rather keep him for next year and optimistically plan on improvement. He’s gone up and down some. That centerfield defense of his would leave a void. Injuries are bound to happen and Grisham is looking the part. It looks to me like Gamel could find himself struggling to stay up. Having mlb ready guys ready when injury comes is big it’s part of what our 2018 team strength was. Having Gamel as aaa depth would be great. Gamel still has an option right? My choice would be to keep Cain and try winning a championship. I still believe he helps towards that goal.
  4. Silvers are in, last night I did the heads on the Weber thing like last August. We wolfed down 11 salmon heads last night, so good. The cheek meat is such a treat.
  5. 8/9/19: Hernan Returns. Wins are going to be cranked out in great big bunches. This is going to be spectacular.
  6. I made the honey garlic chicken recipe last night and it turned out great. I pressure cooked the chicken thighs for 18 minutes (I did the sear/sautee thing first but they were frozen when I did that.) While the chicken cooked I cut up a bunch of vegetables- I happened to have carrots, celery, red onion, pepper, zucchini and some mushrooms. De-pressurized the pot and dumped all that in and pressure cooked it for another 3 minutes, served with rice. We were amazed at how rich and well the whole thing turned out. I didn't have sesame seeds and green onions on hand, and that would have made it better. As for the yogurt, I tried it this morning and it was fine. However in my mind, for the amount of yogurt I buy versus the effort to make the yogurt I made which I'll have to work hard to use up, I might just keep buying it from the store instead. YMMV
  7. Maybe. I know gg is often more a measure of popularity but if you think back to some of the great play he had last year I don’t think it’s too far fetched. Then again I thought Cain was going to win it so who knows.
  8. I think in a different alternate reality Suter could win a gold glove. He fields his position well, he hustles, and makes some spectacular plays as well My opinion was last year he was on his way to having a really good shot at it, had he not gotten hurt.
  9. I just got myself an instant pot, I tried making yogurt last night. Will have to see how well it set up after chilling today. I was looking for a chicken recipe, I may give that one berniebrewer4life posted above.
  10. I was looking forward to Tyler Childers new album for months. It dropped on 8/2 and I made it a big point to get on WiFi and download that thing. His debut album killed and number two named Country Squire...if you enjoy anything country you’re going to love it. My special lady wiggled her hips to the first track and I’ll never forget the moment as long as I live.
  11. I want Cain in centerfield. He makes it look easy. If I were steering the ship I would put Burnes in the rotation right now. Let him learn and grow. His results have sucked this year but I’m dreaming on him for next year. I think he’s our best shot at an ace he needs help but he’s got so much potential. I would be in favor of one large sp contract this off season.
  12. I’ve been off the grid driving through Canada for the past 5 days. I feel like the igt threadlines of Saladino hitting grand slams on consecutive days are a gullibility test.
  13. I thought of him, but did he actually do that with the Brewers? Not sure if I actually remember that or if he just came to mind cause the 2009 team was such trash. Not that I can think of. I think that was more in his Pirates days.
  14. Off the top of my head, the only guy I can think of is Pudge Rodriguez. The Tigers experimented with it, albeit briefly, in 2007 and '08. It got some weird coverage down here in Texas. After he left the Rangers, the media had this weird fixation with him. Piazza never did it. Buster Posey has never done it, either. It's a real rarity. Has Molina ever done it? He seems like a high enough on base guy, he might have done it. I know not recently he has not. Jason Kendall. Lead off more than any other spot in the batting order for his career.
  15. I was guessing streaker. All kinds of cheering and they wouldn't show the field at all.
  16. We're all rooting for the Brewers, right? Woodruff is dealing. Let's just enjoy it. And before I could post, out came Craiger....
