  1. I would be open to an international draft IF it gives small markets a leg up or first crack with international talent. It would help the competitive balance of the league as an alternative to a salary cap.
  2. Very true I guess I am stuck on the old school mentality of protecting your guys.
  3. Mitchell is such an interesting case right now. His savant page is hilarious. At the expense of contact he is swinging out of his shoes taking big daddy hacks. The whiff and K rate says that this is not sustainable though. His chase rate is in a good place. He is just swinging and missing a ton in the zone. Just an insanely intriguing profile. Like if Russell Branyan was fast as hell. That player holds value. I'll even admit I was out on Mitchell this year after an ugly ugly spring. If he can cut that K rate to 25% or so he could be a legitimate 25/25 guy with this new bat path. Also has to stay healthy *knocks aggressively on wood.
  4. Not sure you can just ignore how dirty that slide was. We'll see if cooler heads prevail. I know I wouldn't ignore it. You got to protect your guys. But you also need to be smart.
  5. I am never one to want to see a player get hurt, but that slide was clearly malicious. David Hamilton is still trying to establish his career, while Willson Contreras has already been well-compensated for his time. That kind of bush league play is exactly how you end someone's season with a knee injury or worse. It has no place in the game. I want him to wear 99 MPH from Abner to the ribcage. From that post-game interview he's all about sending messages. So now it is time to reply. Here's a thought Willson. If you don't want to get "hit" maybe don't set up directly on top of the plate. What a crybaby.
  6. Never said he wouldn't. I watched every at bat and he did not look comfortable in any of them until yesterday.
  7. Tough night in the boxscore for Made. Something that wont show up is the fact that he barreled up a pitch that damn near bounced to the plate and off it as well. He just pulled it foul. Would have been a no doubt grand slam. Just insane barrel control. Vlad Guerrero -esque.
  8. Wisconsin sports are just an injury ridden hellhole... please not a bad injury to Wild Bill
  9. I get that these Latin reporters are probably saying the truth here, but I can't help but be perplexed by how irresponsible some of their player comps are. De Vries is arguably the best prospect in baseball. Anything the Brewers do in the Latin market I am all in on. These are literal children, but for better or worse this is the way it's done. And boy the Brewers can work this market. Gone are the Melvin days where they didn't sign a single player. I am excited to see the fruits of it down the line. Seems like they are getting in on more high end guys from what these reporters have said.
  10. Appears you have to be connected to home wifi. Which is garbage for guys like me that need to stream most of the games on the go.
  11. Have we figured out why I cannot stream with Spectrum? I’m on the go a ton for work. But It says I need to be connected to home wifi. Never had this issue before but I have a feeling it’s because of pure greed.
  12. I don't think Payne looks at all comfortable in the box. It looks like he is bailing out on every pitch not shifting his momentum towards the pitcher and instead towards the first base line.
  13. Really need to see Made start to make better swing decisions. I am so impressed by the 18 year old's physical ability. Now it is time to marry that with baseball IQ and plate discipline. Who cares about throwing errors. The fact he is showing the range at SS he is showing is what I really care about.
  14. I am not one for commenting on fashion... But my goodness does the powder blue jersey look stupid with gray pants. It is an absurd decision.
  15. I’m honestly a little shocked at how upset people still are about losing Durbin. Not as much here, but definitely on Brewers X. I get it. He was a fan favorite and a solid player for us, but his skill set became redundant once we added Jett Williams. Jett is, in all honesty, a better version of that player with stronger tools across the board. Durbin was likely close to maxed out. I would not be surprised if this past season ends up being the highest WAR year of his career. I will still root for him, but some fans and analysts seem apoplectic about selling high after his best season, especially when it brought back two potentially very good pitchers and a tools upgrade for our utility infield spot. I am also going to predict that at some point this year Jett becomes our everyday third baseman. I know he has not played there much, if at all, in the minors, but I do not think that will deter the Brewers. He has already shown he can handle shortstop adequately. Moving to the hot corner without much prior experience is not unprecedented for this organization. Ortiz and Durbin are recent examples. One thing you absolutely do not do, though, is move Ortiz to third base. His primary value to this team is his glove at shortstop. Taking him off that position would significantly diminish what he brings to the table.
  16. I am curious where do we think Zerpa fits into the equation now. Earlier in the offseason there was talk about stretching him out into a starter.
  17. This is a great argument, and I completely agree that there’s more than one way to score runs. The Brewers formula works. That said, I’ll play devil’s advocate for a moment. In the postseason, especially this past October, we saw a completely different level of pitching. By the time you get to October, hits and even quality contact are at a premium. When runs are harder to manufacture and rallies are tougher to string together, having legitimate power in the lineup becomes critical. You need hitters who can change a game with one swing. Guys who provide consistent thump and a reliable source of extra-base damage. That’s an area where the Brewers could still stand to improve.
  18. Damn I really was expecting/hoping for more. This era of prospect hugging by GMs is ANNOYING
  19. I'll defer to Arnold but on the surface meh
  20. I absolutely agree with this. However, I think Jett is a better prospect than you give him credit for. IF the package includes Myers especially. I would rather have another year of contention and the draft pick.
  21. We are all in on the pipsqueak archetype huh. Jett is very talented and has a lot of tools that would be a great get. I'm unsure on Sproat... the stuff is not great. Throwing in Myers too IDK not sure I love it. Seems basically equal to the Burnes package on the surface.
  22. Brandon Lockridge and Ortiz in the everyday lineup? ScreenRecording_08-01-2025 15-49-19_1.mov
  23. I’m still in awe that we had to send cash and a legit prospect along with Cortes for a bonafide scrub. What does Preller have on Arnold? He takes us to the woodshed every damn deal.
