  1. What year did Rodgers miss a lot of time? 2018? When we had the Badgers guy, and Kizer and someone else. That was tough to watch. This will be a good test for the rest of the team and the coaching staff. Can we win without a star QB? I'd like to see MLF get creative and use Malik and Clifford together for the QB running/option stuff mixed with traditonal pocket passing and play action. Lots of runs, screens, get the WRs on the end around stuff. And the D needs to show up and win the game like the Bears did yesterday. That was exciting to see. Can our D do that?
  2. Very cool! That race is grueling much respect to anyone in that.
  3. Ashby has been filthy since coming back up. Hope he can stay healthy. He is basically like 2018 Hader right now coming out of the pen and giving you multiple innings.
  4. Very good post. I was born in 1983, so pretty much most of my childhood has been worshipping terrible Brewers teams of the 90's and early 2000s. Wondering will I ever live to see the Brewers in the playoffs? 2008 and to present has been pretty darn good when you think about how bad it was. We got it pretty good right now. Arguably this is the best stretch of baseball the franchise has ever had consistency wise. But I'm not surprised. I remember on the Bucks thread the year they won it all the negative Nancie's coming out of the woodwork that entire playoff run. Same with Brewers. I'm pumped and looking forward to it, and on paper we should be even better next year. That Brewers 2020 playoff team was pretty bad...was that the year we played the Dodgers and had that one awful guy battling cleanup? I think we were under .500 too in that short season. How was that only 4 years ago?
  5. Seems like a good utility guy for the future.
  6. This is exactly my thoughts. In years past we've had "Craigtember" and been on fire through this month...and how did that work out for us? Not so good except for 2018 really. I'd rather have the funk now and get hot when it counts. That hasn't happened in a long time, if ever. Let's be this year's D'Backs.
  7. They are peaking too early! :)
  8. You know what I'm ok with us scuffling a bit now. Better now than in the playoffs. How many teams that have won the World Series recently had some pretty bad stretches of baseball leading into the playoffs? Atlanta? The Cardinals in 2011 when they beat us? Suck now, find it and get hot right before or during the playoffs that's what I want.
  9. Despite the Yelich injury really like how this team is getting healthy at the right time going into the last month of the season and maybe make a run in the playoffs and be that underdog hot team.
  10. My in-laws were visiting during this playoff series and game along with our 3 month old daughter. I really had to show some restraint and self control not yelling at the TV that last game.
  11. You know what after that 2021 season when we lost to the Braves and we had the desirable #1 or #2 seed, the rotation lined up perfectly, the bullpen and lineup well rested...we came out and won game 1 but the offense was in a funk and we lost to a hot team I don't worry about all that kinda stuff like I used to. The baseball playoffs the way they are now are just too much of a lottery. You just gotta be the hot team at that time to win it all. Same with AZ last year. Why not us this year? Maybe we will be that scary hot team at that time down the stretch no one wants to play?
  12. Someone will sign him for big money. I think it's only a matter of time before he breaks down too. I think he'll end up like Prince where he never was hurt much in his younger years, and eventually it catches up with him in the back half of his career after signing the big deal. I can't imagine throwing upper 90's cutters is good on your arm.
  13. I feel like these two teams are very similar this year. Is Cleveland mainly made up of homegrown cheaper talent and dumpster diving like we do? Looking forward to it!
  14. To quote Yeli from Spring Training before the season started "Because uh yeah, we're the Brewers." - Which looking back sums up pretty much why we rarely get any national media love or attention despite having the most wins and fans in the seats over the past 10 years of any franchise. Because we're the Brewers.
  15. I love how Devin has them thinking changeup and then he blows the fastball by them.
  16. I'd rather us lose to these good teams now, than lose to them in the playoffs. Yeah our record isn't good against them now, but that really doesn't mean anything in baseball. We just have to be hot during the playoffs and anything can happen.
  17. Wow I never thought about that...that could either be amazing. Or terrifying.
  18. We will get our redemption in the World Series this year...oh wait this isn't the optimism thread? Woops :)
  19. If he gets that kinda money we almost have to pass on him. It would strap us as a small market. We can only afford one of those big contracts at a time really and that's Yelli. Or we sign him to a big deal, then flip him when he's hot after a year or two I wouldn't mind that either and sell high with someone waiting in the wings in the minors by then hopefully.
  20. Corey Koskie? Wasn't he pretty good for us until he hurt his head or something? Did that end his career?
  21. That Late 90's uniform too just before Miller Park very underrated. The tweaks they made to the 1994 rebrand were great for this time period. I think they finally started selling these hats again at Lids.
  22. Great stats as always. We always enjoy your insights thanks!
  23. Love these threads for two reason! 1) It means we are usually doing pretty good, and are in the hunt or leading the division race. 2) Love seeing random and obscure Brewers used.
  24. Yep I have a feeling some phantom injuries are coming to make room for these guys.
  25. Brewers vs Cubs at Lambeau, or Soldier Field would be cool. But I'm not sure a baseball field would fit.
