  1. The Reds signed Candelario 3/45. Really confusing unless they have huge trade for pitching with there infield surplus.
  2. Be aggressive look towards mlb ready players. I really would love to move on from Yeli, Adamas, and Burnes if we can get the right players. While that might really negatively affect the casual Brewer fan but done right could make a Braves/Rangers type lineup (lots of could be). That assumes our development team can actual develop some bats.
  3. Right defensively he only fits full time into 2B and the Cubs are set with Hoerner. He has shown great tools and it would be wise of the Cubs to try and sell high, Glasnow for Morel and another prospect would be a decent get for Tampa if Morel doesn't go on the Baez track and chase everything.
  4. I read that the Cubs would possibly give up Morel for Glasnow. If that is the case I would love to go after Brandon Lowe. A power hitting 2B that is affordable for up to 3 years or can dump him if he doesn't work. Decent defense and would be relatively cheap on the prospect value if the Ray's are looking to dump some payroll, maybe like Wilson and a throw in prospect or AAAA type player (Miller).
  5. I think Rodriguez is a good bet, I doubt we go crazy on anyone else unless they are hitting crazy. Baez could be but I feel like his defense will slow him down. I doubt Pratt move quick, maybe a A+ ball audition at the end of the year. I could see Dylan O'Rae move quick if he shows the plate discipline he did last year. Of higher level player maybe a pitcher like Logan Henderson if he is healthy. Luis Lara could move from A+ to AA quickly with AAA later in the year. Wilken could go from a few AA ball ab's late last year to the bigs if he plays well and Black isn't what we hoped defensively at 3rd.
  6. Weimer and Adames for Miguel Vargas, Kyle Hurt, Hunter Feduccia Payamps for Connor Norby Burnes for Mick Abel and Christipher Sanchez Yelich to SF for Mitch Haniger, Grant McCray, Mason Black I am all for get young mlb talent for our vets. We sign Hoskins 2/40 option to opt out after 1 for Hoskins. Abel, Hurt, and Black give us three arms to build a young top end rotation in the near future (Peralta, Abel, Hurt, Black, Rodriguez, Misi, Ashby, Gasser, Sanchez). Vargas, Norby, and Black for a 3 person platoon at 2B/3B and maybe DH/1B occasionally. I just threw out Jake Bauers in this situation. Grant McCray provides a high end OF talent for the minors. C: William Contreras ($0.77M) 1B: Rhy Hoskins ($20M) 2B: Conner Norby ($0.77M) 3B: Miguel Vargas ($0.77M) SS: Brice Turang ($.77M) LF: Sal Frelick ($.77M) CF: Jackson Chourio ($0.77M) RF: Garrett Mitchell ($1.70M) DH: Mitch Haniger ($13M) Bench OF: Tyrone Taylor ($1.7M) Utility: Tyler Black ($.77M) Utility: Andrew Montesario ($.77M) Backup C: Hunter Feduccia ($.77M) SP1: Christopher Sanchez ($.77M) SP2: Freddy Peralta ($5.50M) SP3: Wade Miley ($07.5M) SP4: Adrian Houser ($5.60M) SP5: Colin Rea ($3.50M) CL: Devin Williams ($6.50M) RP: Abner Uribe ($0.77M) RP: Hoby Milner ($1.70M) RP: Bryse Wilson ($1.30M) RP: Ross/Vieira ($.77M) RP: Trevor Megill ($0.77M) RP: Elvis Peguero ($0.77M) RP: Robert Gasser/Ashby ($.77M) Payroll is 43.18% under budget
  7. Paredes would be great but I agree the price would be to big. He would take at 2 of good prospects. Unless there is a 3 team trade that works I'd pass. I would think about Quero for Paredes straight up would be interesting but I'd still pass. Williams to Rangers Weimer, Brock Porter, and Josh Stephen to Tampa We get Paredes and 1B Ortiz Still don't like it.
  8. With the Dodgers moving Mookie to 2B I feel like Michael Busch and Miguel Vargas are available. Would Joey Weimer for Miguel Vargas work we turn OF surplus into a high potential bat who could play 1B/2B/3B. Vargas has a rough start but had a hand injury and wasn't allowed to swing in Spring Training big bounce back potential.
  9. I think he is a good candidate to move to the bullpen Ala Wilson last year. If his fastball plays up a mph or 2 his fastball slider combo could work well. I am sure this is for the minimum so has to be in AAA for a bit it won't hurt. This move makes me think we could be moving a bullpen piece/s in the near future.
  10. I could see Burnes but I doubt they give up prospects for Williams. They have 2 of the best relievers in the AL even if Bautista is out this year it would become a bit redundant. I would think they sign an older reliever or two with backend experience. Otherwise Payamps would make more sense for them at a lower package.
  11. Nice, not sure if this makes a Burnes trade more or less likely but this would be solid on a 1 or 2 year deal.
  12. I think you should have him try 1st at least. I have a very Bill Buckner ball threw the legs image of Yeli at 1st. Yeli at DH primarily would be fine but he really is to good of an athlete to be a full time DH. I really think that there is going to be a good trade for him/us later in the offseason once the top 5/10 bats sign. If we trade Burnes and Adames, Yeli would likely accept a trade especially to California the Giants, Angels, and Dodgers could all use outfield help and have money to spend. Giants for Conforto/Mitchell Haniger and 2 mid prospects Angels for Tyler Anderson, Brandon Drury, and a higher prospect. Dodgers for Rojas, and mid 2 prospects Do we get a can't miss return anywhere, no, but we get out of the later years of the deal. We also get some prospects and have a ton money to spend for 2025 offseason.
  13. I like the lefty idea, I think we pick 26th so I doubt there is anyone great around. Still it costs so little to pick someone, I say get whoever has the best stuff and get them in for camp and see if we can turn them around. Seymour would be interesting as a multi inning reliever. I could see someone taking Evan McKendry or Cam Devanney but I doubt either one would be able to stay on a big league roster long enough for us to lose.
  14. I am fine with a headliner being a position player if there is some power potential in the infield. At this point I wouldnt mind a trade with 3 solid pieces either if no highly ranked prospects is available. Texas could offer 3 of Porter/Walcott/Leiter/ White/Duran/Foscue/Ortiz/Stephen/Rocker?/Harris and make a crazy rotation or more likely get Devin Williams instead.
  15. I like the idea of a 3 team with SD in a Soto deal, Tiedman would be a great get. We get Tiedman, SS Orvelis Martinez Toronto gets Soto, Pads get Burnes, Elvis Peguero The Yankees work alright, We get Clarke Schmidt, P Will Warren, Oswaldo Cabrera Yanks get Soto Pads get Burnes and SP Randy Vasquez Cubs as well
  16. The 2 million buyout seems low which is really nice. Hopefully the team options are for more than the 2 years but I can't complain about locking him up for 10 years.
  17. I am kind of thinking Boston might be gearing up for a Burnes deal. I have read alot about them wanting a top of the rotation starter. Boston doesn't have great young starters but plenty of good talent. I'd probably do Burnes for Marcelo Mayer straight up or a package around Rafeala who is best in CF but would be a good 2B. There top 20 or so prospect are solid. Roman Anthony would be solid as well if we moved a bunch of OF guys (unlikey). Rafeala, Blaze Jordan/Yorke, Garrett Whitlock, and a lotto type piece would be ok with me. I think my most likely list would be 1)Dodgers 2)Mets 3)Giants 4)O's 5) Red Sox
  18. 9 million for Sanchez seems steep. I wouldnt mind him to much but I doubt he gets more the 4-5 million.
  19. I like the OF for pitcher idea however probably 1 for 1 the Ms have Julio and Kelenic so I doubt they want 2 OF. I would try and get Bryce Miller or Logan Gilbert instead and throw in a prospect like Logan Henderson if need be.
  20. I would love RA, however we might have to many OF. The Ray's have Lowe, Siri, Raley, Ramirez so I doubt they would want Mitchell and Weimer. Maybe Gasser or Rodriguez as a 2nd piece. To be honest I would pass and risk it with our young OF depth. I wouldnt be to mad if we did get him at a reasonable rate.
  21. I feel like there would be multiple years that would have options so it would be more like 10 years of control. I could be Julio Rodriguez styled as well where there is like 8 years and then a 4 year option or something like that. I feel like an extension with his strong play in Winter League make it more likely than not he could make the opening day roster. Coupled with the everyone is on the table report my guess is that a Yelich trade is possible. I doubt we pay Yelich 26mil to be a DH and the Bauer signing doesn't point towards Yeli at 1st.
  22. I like Bregman but we won't be able to pay him either. Giving up 3 good prospects for a good year won't be the best idea. I also really doubt the Astos don't pay Bregman in the long run.
  23. Garver would be nice if we did havr other holes fixed however 1B, 3B, 2B are bigger problems.
  24. I would wait on Peralta, he will still be young with controllable years. If some of the young guys show promise he can lead a young rotation. If the young guys aren't quite up to speed then he can bring in a couple great young arms. I prefer retool not rebuild, turn Burnes and Adames into a solid IF and upside starter or two. If you throw in Williams we can still improve our team by improving the weak offensive positions from last year.
  25. We would get more separate but if it meant getting a second top tier talent I'd be in. Say we could get Sheehan, Vivas, and Kopp for Burnes if we could get Sheehan, Vargas, and Kopp for Burnes and Adames sign me up.
