  1. Nice, not sure if this makes a Burnes trade more or less likely but this would be solid on a 1 or 2 year deal.
  2. I think you should have him try 1st at least. I have a very Bill Buckner ball threw the legs image of Yeli at 1st. Yeli at DH primarily would be fine but he really is to good of an athlete to be a full time DH. I really think that there is going to be a good trade for him/us later in the offseason once the top 5/10 bats sign. If we trade Burnes and Adames, Yeli would likely accept a trade especially to California the Giants, Angels, and Dodgers could all use outfield help and have money to spend. Giants for Conforto/Mitchell Haniger and 2 mid prospects Angels for Tyler Anderson, Brandon Drury, and a higher prospect. Dodgers for Rojas, and mid 2 prospects Do we get a can't miss return anywhere, no, but we get out of the later years of the deal. We also get some prospects and have a ton money to spend for 2025 offseason.
  3. I like the lefty idea, I think we pick 26th so I doubt there is anyone great around. Still it costs so little to pick someone, I say get whoever has the best stuff and get them in for camp and see if we can turn them around. Seymour would be interesting as a multi inning reliever. I could see someone taking Evan McKendry or Cam Devanney but I doubt either one would be able to stay on a big league roster long enough for us to lose.
  4. I am fine with a headliner being a position player if there is some power potential in the infield. At this point I wouldnt mind a trade with 3 solid pieces either if no highly ranked prospects is available. Texas could offer 3 of Porter/Walcott/Leiter/ White/Duran/Foscue/Ortiz/Stephen/Rocker?/Harris and make a crazy rotation or more likely get Devin Williams instead.
  5. I like the idea of a 3 team with SD in a Soto deal, Tiedman would be a great get. We get Tiedman, SS Orvelis Martinez Toronto gets Soto, Pads get Burnes, Elvis Peguero The Yankees work alright, We get Clarke Schmidt, P Will Warren, Oswaldo Cabrera Yanks get Soto Pads get Burnes and SP Randy Vasquez Cubs as well
  6. The 2 million buyout seems low which is really nice. Hopefully the team options are for more than the 2 years but I can't complain about locking him up for 10 years.
  7. I am kind of thinking Boston might be gearing up for a Burnes deal. I have read alot about them wanting a top of the rotation starter. Boston doesn't have great young starters but plenty of good talent. I'd probably do Burnes for Marcelo Mayer straight up or a package around Rafeala who is best in CF but would be a good 2B. There top 20 or so prospect are solid. Roman Anthony would be solid as well if we moved a bunch of OF guys (unlikey). Rafeala, Blaze Jordan/Yorke, Garrett Whitlock, and a lotto type piece would be ok with me. I think my most likely list would be 1)Dodgers 2)Mets 3)Giants 4)O's 5) Red Sox
  8. 9 million for Sanchez seems steep. I wouldnt mind him to much but I doubt he gets more the 4-5 million.
  9. I like the OF for pitcher idea however probably 1 for 1 the Ms have Julio and Kelenic so I doubt they want 2 OF. I would try and get Bryce Miller or Logan Gilbert instead and throw in a prospect like Logan Henderson if need be.
  10. I would love RA, however we might have to many OF. The Ray's have Lowe, Siri, Raley, Ramirez so I doubt they would want Mitchell and Weimer. Maybe Gasser or Rodriguez as a 2nd piece. To be honest I would pass and risk it with our young OF depth. I wouldnt be to mad if we did get him at a reasonable rate.
  11. I feel like there would be multiple years that would have options so it would be more like 10 years of control. I could be Julio Rodriguez styled as well where there is like 8 years and then a 4 year option or something like that. I feel like an extension with his strong play in Winter League make it more likely than not he could make the opening day roster. Coupled with the everyone is on the table report my guess is that a Yelich trade is possible. I doubt we pay Yelich 26mil to be a DH and the Bauer signing doesn't point towards Yeli at 1st.
  12. I like Bregman but we won't be able to pay him either. Giving up 3 good prospects for a good year won't be the best idea. I also really doubt the Astos don't pay Bregman in the long run.
  13. Garver would be nice if we did havr other holes fixed however 1B, 3B, 2B are bigger problems.
  14. I would wait on Peralta, he will still be young with controllable years. If some of the young guys show promise he can lead a young rotation. If the young guys aren't quite up to speed then he can bring in a couple great young arms. I prefer retool not rebuild, turn Burnes and Adames into a solid IF and upside starter or two. If you throw in Williams we can still improve our team by improving the weak offensive positions from last year.
  15. We would get more separate but if it meant getting a second top tier talent I'd be in. Say we could get Sheehan, Vivas, and Kopp for Burnes if we could get Sheehan, Vargas, and Kopp for Burnes and Adames sign me up.
  16. If we could develop everyone fully Frelick is a .300 hitting leadoff man with a gold glove in left, Chourio hits upper .275-.300 with 30/30 or better with high end defense and Weimer or Mitchell hit over .250 with 30/30 potential and gold glove in RF. If we could only develop hitter in the bigs.
  17. I agree but he only struck out 116 time last year so if he meets his potential and hits 270/350/900 he shouldn't have crazy K numbers. He just needs to lay off breaking pitches out of the zone and not pop up as many pitches as hit did last year.
  18. I would hate to trade him when his value is low, however he would seem the easiest to move/lose. If I were to trade him it would be for a big upside pitcher/3rd who is young controllable and probably didn't have a great 2023. Miguel Vargas and Gavin Stone from the Dodgers fit the mold, maybe Jose Miranda other other Twins package, Oswald Peraza could be the starting a deal as well. In a perfect world, we could trade Yelich and get a solid young contributor and let Weimer, Frelick, Mitchell, and Taylor all play and then sort it out come say June/July when Chourio can no longer be contained in AAA.
  19. I think the Pads nontendered Austin Nola, he has been solid until last year. He can play a hint of 1st or even 2nd. I kind of like Francisco Mejia as a backup as well. As a switch hitter, who we could help on defense and maybe re-find his bat. Probably just living in the past on him however. To be honest, I would be ok just letting Payton Henry be the backup and maybe signing an old friend like Manny Pina as AAA depth or to compete with Henry. If anything awful happens Quero isn't to far away.
  20. The cards signed Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson. Not the guys Cards fans invisioned I would guess, maybe Lynn still has some upside. Braves signed Reynaldo Lopez 3/30, Lopez has been solid but not elite. It should show solid reliever values still if we want to trade a reliever. If we keep Burnes and Adames (others) we still need some middle of the order bats to be a contender. Yeli and Contraras are solid but more 1/2 hitters. The Dbacks had Walker, Gurriel, Marte, and Carroll to provide consistentcy for their playoff run. Our lineup doesn't have enough depth unless we get huge improvement from our young guys. To me it would be better to get some good young upside bats for Burnes and Adames then lean on our pitching department to develop or have a few reclamation projects to make a workable rotation. Not to mention using some of the saved money on short term vets. I have way more faith in piecing together pitching and putting our resources into offense. Our organization has been so terrible in developing bats through the system it is really sad.
  21. I would love Polanco, especially if we trade Adames. Polanco could play 2B or a little 3B (SS for a game or two if need be but not more). He still has great power that would play up in AFF. I wouldnt mind trading an OF for him but would want a decent 2nd piece if it is Weimer or Mitchell just based on control and potential. For Taylor straight up would be pretty close. Weimer for Polanco and SS Danny De Andrade would seem ok to me.
  22. Agreed. Unless we could truly get Caminero or Holiday. Pairing one of those with Chourio and hopefully a couple other of our young bats would be insane.
  23. I would take Camenerio or the O's guys but I just think this guys with superstar ceilings rarely get traded. More likely packages would be. O's Coby Mayo, Norby/Ortiz, Bradfield, Tyler Wells or Mayo, Basallo, Norby/Ortiz Rays Carson Williams, Curtis Mead, Mason Montgomery, Chandler Simpson or Taj Bradley, Mead/Williams, and Simpson
  24. I think most of those guys are untouchable. We would probably get a package like what we gave up for Yeli. A top 30 prospect, 2 in or around the top 100 and a 4th guy who is more than a throw in.
  25. Burnes and Payamps for Samuel Basallo, Connor Norby, DL Hall, Chayce McDermott Adames to LAD for SS Joendy Vargas and C Hunter Feduccia Yelich to Angel's for Tyler Anderson, Nelson Rada, Ben Joyce Sign Rhys Hoskins 2/40, Justin Turner 1/16, Trevor Bauer 1/14 (with 25 mill option 2025, 3 million buyout and 5 million in incentives), Lucas Giolito 2/42. Not mentioned Woody 2/25 We improve our farm system by sending out our vets and Payamps, we go for high end young prospects Basallo, Vargas, Rada and get guys like Norby, Hall, Feduccia, Anderson who can help immediately. To make up for the trades we overpay 4 vets (Turner, Hoskins, Bauer, Giolio) to short term deals who stabilize the middle of the lineup and provide a risky but high end 6 man rotation. (Rea takes spot for 1st injury) I doubt it would be possible to sign those 4 vets if we trade Yeli, Adames, and Burnes. But we would be a contender have the best farm in the league, and not really block any major prospects and come in budget wise at a respectable place for Marky Mark.
