  1. Quero #3 behind Basallo and Salas. https://www.justbaseball.com/prospects/just-baseballs-top-10-catching-prospects-for-2024/
  2. I don't have much interest in Schmidt being any part of a deal. He's an Adrian Houser back-end type, which is valuable in the aggregate due to the amount of control, but will still eat away at the rest of the return. Same idea with Peraza. I'd definitely want Hampton back. Give me Arias and his upside, too. Throw in another pitcher, and I'd do it. A shame they gave up Thorpe in the Soto deal. I'm really high on him.
  3. As far as your question, I don't see it happening. If there's one area that the Brewers have proven they can be good-to-elite and not expend significant resources it's in the late innings. Even Devin Williams looks to be on his way out sometime within the next year, with Uribe being groomed to take over for him.
  4. I just happened to notice you making the same type of statement you persistently go after me for on this forum when I am not even addressing you or interacting with you in any way. I now see it's a different story when someone else is doing it to you. I have not reported you once. lol.
  5. How do you know this? We had major success with him leading the back-end of the pen. He could very well miss Milwaukee and want to come back. You don't know for sure, so why say this?
  6. What an incredible waste of talent. If only it could be transported to a better person.
  7. I would have done this deal.
  8. If the Twins aren't going to give up Lee, I'd take a package of Rodriguez, Festa, Raya, and Miranda, despite our glut of OFers. I'd be all for a future Chourio, Rodriguez, and Wilken middle of the order. Festa and Raya are the type of arms the Brewers value and have had success with. Miranda has been squeezed out of the Twins IF picture with Lewis' emergence, but would give the Brewers much needed controllable depth in the corners to insert onto the major league roster and likely the OD lineup. Thoughts, @Brock Beauchamp?
  9. I expect we’ll hear an announcement about the Brewers resigning Carlos Santana to a one year deal shortly after the holiday.
  10. That’s your opinion. You realize you come across as something yourself when you feel the need to do this with every single one of my posts, including just yesterday when I simply shared an article (trying to figure out how that’s about phrasing or knowing it all)? Unfortunately, I can’t exactly spell it out for you as it would get filtered by the site. If you disagree with my opinion, just say so and present evidence why you think I’m wrong. I can take it, and I’m not always right. No need for the other stuff. Simple as that.
  11. Seriously. What is your problem when you’re doing this to every one of my posts. Please knock it off. There’s literally evidence throughout his tenure going back to the Rays which says it’s not really Friedman’s style to give up prospects for one year rentals. They were only willing to give up Pepiot if Glasnow agreed to an extension.
  12. Odds aren't zero, but they're not desperate enough now to trade prospects for a one year rental. Not Friedman's style.
  13. They don’t need to. Rotation of Yamamoto, Glasnow, Miller, Sheehan, Buehler.
  14. Burnes to Dodgers dream is officially over.
  15. What is the point of this post? If they made this trade, I can sure as heck tell you I wouldn’t be happy with it.
  16. Another terrible trade proposal from the biased national media... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10101874-7-trade-ideas-for-mlbs-most-eager-buyers-and-sellers
  17. I mean, it's Fangraphs.... You're free to dig up any articles you please.
  18. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/tinker-taylor-houser-crow/ Calls trade a "win win" for both teams. Interestingly, says it's around the best return the Brewers could have gotten for both players, but still mostly about a salary dump. Worth a quick read.
  19. I don't think I've ever thought more of Taylor and Houser than I do now after the trade. I wanted Houser to be replaced by Gasser in the rotation during the season. Taylor had a huge hot streak to end the season and we were able to ride that, but it's still at best a league average bat. Not poo pooing them, just acknowledging them to be the replaceable players they are. I can understand being underwhelmed with the return. Maybe they could have gotten another player. But it's really not much of a needle mover in the grand scheme of things. I want them to play Chourio, Gasser, etc.
  20. Sure, but let's not pretend like Houser and Taylor have a ton of value. I would acknowledge they likely received less than their full value here, but I would agree with BTV that it's a moderate underpay at most. Which I'm not going to lose sleep over when a) I don't have knowledge of what the Brewers are planning next and b) Taylor and Houser are 30 something replaceable parts. And even if the plan is to contend, I would argue they're better off making the upside play with Chourio, Gasser, etc. in their stead. Doesn't always work out, but it worked out for the Rangers and Reds this year, for example.
  21. And how is that not beneficial for a retooling? A Burnes/Adames/Williams trade is likely creating more 40 man spots that will need to be filled.
  22. You also have to look at who we have to replace those guys, though. Steamer projects Chourio and Gasser to outproduce Taylor and Houser for this season.
  23. I mean Chourio also is in a different prospect stratosphere from those guys....Not saying he'll produce like Acuna Jr. or Tatis Jr., but I don't see why we should expect Chourio or Black to struggle to the extent of Turang or Wiemer. Steamer expects him to outproduce Tyrone Taylor, and that's a conservative projection.
  24. The Brewers have been among the top spenders this offseason in terms of guaranteed money.... And we're talking about what? $6-7 million in savings. A Santana signing, which we should expect at this point, takes care of that.
