  1. Calm down. No one’s abandoning that fact. I forgot one word. It happens.
  2. Title. We haven’t won one last time I checked.
  3. https://nypost.com/2023/10/26/sports/mets-money-may-not-be-enough-to-lure-craig-counsell-from-brewers/
  4. Yep definitely worth the risk. Interestingly, all it took for the Dbacks to decide to extend Carroll was one month. Mariners waited a little longer with Rodriguez and it cost them a more.
  5. Neither Caminero or Mead are going to be able to play SS in the majors. Or at the very least on a full-time basis. They do, however, also have Carson Williams who is in AA and a top 50 prospect.
  6. Technically, it would be their second World Series...
  7. I wonder how CC would feel watching another manager lead the Brewers to their first World Series, when he had the opportunity to do so and probably get a statue/his number retired/HOF, etc....He's stated in the past how he feels like that's the only thing he has left to accomplish in baseball, and that statement would all of a sudden feel really hollow. Ultimately, the team will be fine one way or another due to my belief in this FO and the remarkable talent pipeline they've developed. But I can't say there won't be any sore feelings whatsoever on my end if he leaves us hanging to join forces with Cohen and Stearns, especially if Attanasio is willing to be competitive salary-wise. It's pretty natural imo.
  8. I personally hate Marquette and have zero interest in ever rooting for them, but that's just because I'm a UW Alum and proud season ticket-holder lol.
  9. There’s a reason why blue font is a feature. So there’s zero doubt.
  10. Blue font is a feature of this site…
  11. Another big potential transaction coming up...Kid is a consensus top 3 prospect in baseball doing stuff few minor leaguers his age have ever done. His .325/.380/.551 slash-line in the high minors following the return of the regular baseball is Acuna/Rodriguez/Tatis-like. He looks primed to make his major league debut sometime early next season, if not by opening day, and assume the role from Yelich/Burnes of the "face of the franchise". He's still super young and untested for sure, but there's a very good track record with minor leaguers who have produced like he has at his age. Question subsequently becomes: WHEN do you offer him a contract extension and WHAT do you offer him to ensure you have him locked up through his early to mid prime seasons as you attempt to open up a window for an extended World Series run? You probably want to see him get some major league run first, but, at the same time, the longer you wait, the more expensive he potentially becomes. See: Burnes, Corbin. Guerrero Jr, Vlad. For reference, other recent extensions for prospects of his ilk: -Wander Franco, TB: 11 years, $182 million guaranteed, 12th year option, $41 million in incentives -Julio Rodriguez: 12 years, $210 million guaranteed, options for 5 more years, $260 in incentives -Corbin Carroll, 8 years, $111 million guaranteed, 9th year option for $23 million FWIW, assuming everything proceeds on schedule and Chourio shows well in the majors, I would offer him something like 8 years $120 million guaranteed. with a club option for a 9th year at $23 million. Offer to be made a month to two months after his major league debut. That's guaranteed life-changing money for someone like Chourio, and he could still enter free agency after his age 29-30 seasons. Brewers would be able to have financial certainty in working his contract around Yelich's, while having a new "face of the franchise" to market statewide.
  12. Again, the Brewers do not really need to "rebuild", when they already have a top 3 farm system.
  13. I agree CC may be gone and people are taking it too personally, but the Brewers don't really need to "rebuild" when they already have a consensus top 3 farm system in the game. In fact, they've stated they're not going to do that. If anything, you'd see more of a reload/reset with Burnes/Williams being traded for controllable prospects and MLB pieces, while they continue to be opportunistic in the FA market with the aim of competing now and in the future.
  14. Yeah, unless this is sarcasm, it's probably just you.
  15. If I were Arnold and MA, I would bring in manager candidates simultaneously (or at the least leak some names) to send the signal to CC that the Brewers need to proceed with business and that his spot in MKE won’t be open forever. Force him into making a timely decision one way or another because right now CC holds all the leverage, and that’s not a good spot to be in.
  16. I still think he ultimately returns to the Brewers due to his strong MKE feelings/ties and the relatively lower scale of the current manager market. But the scenario I worry about is the Mets going absolutely nuts (like $10 million+) such as they did in FA last year to where the Brewers simply can’t match.
  17. We’ll see if MA steps up…
  18. They literally have a top 3 farm system right now. They don’t need to tank. Rays haven’t tanked in forever, either. That’s the model the Brewers are trying to follow. Diamondbacks really only tanked for a year or two. They were in the postseason as recently as 2017.
  19. Made more easy by the current postseason format. Orioles, Rays, etc the list of teams succeeding nowadays with a lower payroll goes on. You just have to be playing your best baseball in October.
  20. Tell that to the 84 win and lower payroll Arizona Diamondbacks.
  21. Just ready to get it over with at this point. I know he said he wanted to explore his options, but I now get the feeling there’s real smoke to the fire here. CC would be damaging his image in the eyes of Brewers’ fans imo. He’s ultimately free to do whatever he wants, but ditching Milwaukee for New York and leaving us without a WS like he committed to do is severely disappointing. Could potentially lead to boos if/when he comes to Milwaukee as manager of Mets.
  22. Just get hot in October.
  23. Streak is alive and well.
  24. Corbin Carroll is so good. Hopefully Chourio can follow in his footsteps.
