    During the 21/22 lockout the Major League portion of the Rule 5 draft was postponed and then eventually cancelled. I think they could technically postpone it and then have it when the lockout ends. They didn't do that before but not sure I'd want to take that risk.

    I'd like to see the Brewers trot out a top 5 batting order of this today. 1. Turang 2. Chourio 3. Bauers 4. Vaughn 5. Mitchell .

    Division lead not dropping below 4 games would be successful for me. Lead staying at 5+ would be absolute gravy.

    Gutsy win and feel like it was a must win with a west coast road trip coming up and the leverage pen guys all down for at least a day. Sanchez should be the Brewers starting catcher for the time being. Contreras looks like the worst player on the team. Give him a few series where he only needs to play one game a series.

    No he had one of his best starts of the year. 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO

    I think the answer is clearly PCA. The defensive gap between the two is substantial. Even if you think Chourio is going to take a leap offensively and PCA isn't going to maintain this offensive level, PCA's defense would still keep him above Chourio. One thing I don't agree with though is that Chourio hasn't improved. I think we all wanted him to really break out especially after he finished his rookie year so strong and it hasn't happened yet. The underlying numbers though I think show he's at least heading in the right direction.

    It’s problematic. You can’t avoid using a guy like this when you have a 7 man bullpen. Sometimes you have to trust using a guy like Wilson in a situation where you don’t really want to use him and I think Murphy is really bad at that. I don’t know if that’s because of his win at all costs mantra or what but he has seemingly been reluctant to use the last guy in the bullpen basically his entire tenure as our manager.

    It’s really more like 6.5 relievers than 7 because Murphy won’t use Wilson unless it’s a last resort

    I do not think the plan was for him to go 2 innings today when pitching for the 3rd time in 4 days for the first time in his career.

    I don't understand trading for Senzatela a guy who has never been used in a single inning reliever role and trying to turn him into a single inning reliever. Today was his first time in his career pitching 3 out of 4 days and he pitched poorly. Why not just keep him in his multi-inning role that he was excelling in while in Colorado?

    Three scoreless innings from Wilson. Those would have been nice when the score was 4-4 but Pat Murphy's win at all costs mantra prevents him from seeing the bigger picture.

    Really could have used these two scoreless innings from Bryse Wilson in the 5th and 6th innings but Pat Murphy won't use him unless the Brewers are losing.

    So instead of going to Bryse Wilson in a 4-4 game when our SP clearly didn't have it Murphy tries to get an extra inning out of the SP and then turn it over to a reliever going 3 times in 4 days who has not been used that way at all with his previous team. The Twins now have 8 runs and Bryse Wilson is warming for the second time. Just really poor management in my opinion. You can't have a 6 man rotation and refuse to use one of your relievers for this long.

    You're trying to argue something I'm not saying. I responded directly to you saying it's not a platoon. It is a platoon. This is literally what platooning is. There's a reason RHH are called the short side of the platoon because there are a lot fewer LHP than RHP.

    It quite literally is a platoon. They just haven't faced many LHP since Hamilton came off the IL. In the 13 games the Brewers have played since Hamilton came off the IL, they have faced one LHSP (Freeland) and one LHP opener (Suter). Ortiz started both of those games at 3B.

    Sanchez has to be the most underappreciated backup catcher in MLB. I see him get grief from Brewers fandom all over the internet when he has a 130 wRC+ and 1 fWAR in just under 200 PA. There's an argument he should actually be playing more with Contreras having a down year with the bat.

    His second error costs Biloxi the game. Routine ground ball to him at 3B to end the game and he played it poorly and went under his glove. Two batters later Biloxi gets walked off.

    Andrew Fischer with two more errors today. He's up to 10 errors in 32 games at 3B in AA.

    If Brewers won a low scoring 11 inning game with 5 hits and 3 walks we would be hearing about how the offense is a problem and it's clearly not sustainable.

    Play of the game for me was clearly the Mitchell outfield assist in the 4th inning. Felt like that inning was trending towards disastrous for May. Instead of 2-2 with runners on the corners and no outs it went to 2-2 with a runner on 1B with one out. Game changer. It was a good throw but also a smart throw. Could have tried to throw home where the run was almost certainly scoring but read the situation very well.

    Yelich is batting in the same spot he was last night because Bauers isn't playing again. If Bauers was playing he'd be hitting 7th.

    Cubs offense has been playing way over it's underlying numbers for two months now. Since June 1st they have a .315 xwOBA compared to a .344 wOBA. On the season their .322 xwOBA is only one point better than the Brewers .321 xwOBA. I think people are getting caught up with a Cubs offensive hot streak and a Brewers offensive cold streak and think that's what is actually real and not that it's just the ebbs and flows of an MLB season

    Not that concerned. Brewers still have 7 games against them. If Cubs cut the gap in August we still have those head to head games to regain the ground.
