  1. Yeah you’re not getting Colt Emerson for Ashby and a throw in.
  2. What Emerson is this?
  3. As someone who loves the NHL and MLB this would be awesome for me.
  4. Did Cutch retire or Pirates not interested in bringing him back?
  5. I believe you’re correct that he’s out of options which makes it not make a ton of sense for the Brewers though I think I think the point may be moot as I’m not sure he’ll make it to the Brewers spot in the waiver order
  6. If Vientos was capable of playing 3B, I’d be interested in him as a bounce back bat candidate. Not really interested in the other two.
  7. Sprint speed is factored in to xBA on topped and weakly hit balls.
  8. This actually is a decent point that probably hasn't been talked about enough. Frelick is younger, more well rounded and has more pedigree than Collins but like Collins he significantly overperformed his underlying numbers last season. We should probably be expecting some regression with the bat next season for Frelick.
  9. They have Crochet and Chapman both of whom are much better than Freddy and Megill.
  10. I think Boston pretty easily says no to this. They would be getting 1 year of Freddy and 2 years of Megill for 3 years of Duran and 6 years of Early a borderline Top 100 prospect.
  11. I don’t know if this will have any impact on the Brewers or not but it’s a really dumb rule.
  12. DH and 1B. Both are part time OF not guys who would start consistently in the OF if there were injuries.
  13. Yes the OF situation is a bit testy right now. You’re a Garrett Mitchell injury away from someone like Perkins, Lockridge, Baddoo, or Black getting every day reps. I’ve been a vocal fan of Perkins but he’s certainly at his best getting ideal matchups and being a late inning defensive replacement.
  14. Pretty sure almost every Brewers fan who frequents a site like this could have told you who Collins was a year ago. I mean he literally was on the 40-man and got some late season PA in 2024.
  15. Awesome article Jack. Love the visual aid in explaining his lack of deception. Hopefully Brewers have a good fix for that.
  16. Yeah Mears stuff dropped off big time last year. He had 69 stuff (20-80 scale) by pitching bot and 120 stuff+ by stuff+ in his brief Brewers sample in 2024. Last year that dropped off 53 and 100 respectively so right around average. This was a guy who was left off the roster in the NLCS because the Brewers didn't view him as a leverage option. Maybe the stuff bounces back next year but he was always a pretty easy guy to see get traded this offseason considering he had no options remaining.
  17. I'm just sad that Collins was traded but such is the business of MLB. Don't get attached to Brewers players.
  18. Chase rate has literally nothing to do with missing bats? I just showed you he had 49th percentile whiff rate and 36th percentile K-rate so yes he didn’t miss bats.
  19. Signing Akil Baddoo then turning around and trading Isaac Collins would make me very sad
  20. Pretty crazy to jump from a DSL pitching coach where you're coaching extremely raw 17 and 18 year old pitchers to an MLB assistant pitching coach.
  21. That description of Mears is just not accurate to describe who he was in 2025. His 95.4 mph FB was below the 95.6 mph average from RHRP in 2025. His 25% whiff rate was 49th percentile and his 20.7% K-rate was 36th percentile.
  22. @Jack Stern you likely have a better feel on this stuff having access to the coaches/clubhouse but do you think there's an aversion to splitters and kick changeups from the Brewers? Since the splitter has really taken off again the last few years the Brewers consistently have been at or near the bottom of the league in splitter usage and I don't believe anyone in the org throws a kick change (maybe Bryce Meccage does but he was throwing one before he was drafted).
  23. I certainly hope that's not true of Lockridge considering they traded a pretty decent prospect to get Lockridge not even half a year ago. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true of Berroa and Black but I thought both of those guys were DFA (Berroa) or trade (Black) candidates this offseason to clear up 40-man space for upgrades as they were excess on the 40.
  24. Very bizarre signing when the Brewers already have a couple AAAA OF types on their 40
  25. The Yankees wouldn't trade Schlittler straight up for Peralta.
