  1. Woodruff was non-tendered after the 2023 season.
  2. I think you needed just a couple more laughing face emojis to really get your point across
  3. Adam McCalvy has very clearly said Woodruff's buyout was baked into their 2025 costs so no it does not in fact make it $32M against this year's payroll.
  4. I'd even go a step further. His contract was structured as a 1 year $17.5M deal spread across 2 seasons and a buyout.
  5. Woodruff put up 1.8 fWAR and 1.2 bWAR for that $17.5M. He didn't do nothing. Also I'd like to add that comparing a 1-year deal AAV to a 5 year deal AAV is a pretty bad faith comparison.
  6. Yeah I don't particularly feel one way or another about Woodruff accepting the QO. I mean obviously happy to see Woodruff stay a Brewer just more talking big picture thinking. I think the idea this hurts their ability to make moves this offseason is exaggerated. It's not like Brewers were going to be big game hunting if Woodruff declined the QO.
  7. I think Keller will probably be out of the Brewers typical reliever price range but if he isn't I would definitely be down for the Brewers to go after him.
  8. Cam Devanney is headed to the NPB.
  9. One thing on Durbin that has me slightly hesitant is his absurd HBP rate this year. Looking at his minor league career and he did have a lot of HBP but the rate was much lower than it was this year. MiLB - 1274 PA, 43 HBP for a 3.4% HBP rate MLB - 506 PA, 24 HBP for a 4.7% HBP rate I don't think it's likely that he can maintain a near 5% HBP rate going forward so he's probably going to need to see his BA/SLG or BB-rate to tick up a bit if he's going to maintain his offensive production.
  10. Durbin was regarded as solid defensively at 2B so it was more of a question if he could translate that to 3B so I wouldn't really say that's similar to Black who doesn't have any defensive home. You hope he could handle LF but that's still a bit of a mystery. I wasn't impressed with his play in LF in AAA last year.
  11. Yeah I don't get the sentiment of people saying Twins would need to eat money to get a good return. $15M a year of an injury prone Buxton is fair value at worst and more realistically it's a bargain. He's put up under 3 fWAR 2 times in the last 7 years and one of those years was the 60 game season in 2020.
  12. I've been asking for years so if someone figures it out let me know
  13. The Brewers just structured Woodruff’s contract that way to push a chunk of the 2025 money to the offseason not in season. They basically spread out his $17.5M cap hit to pitch in 2025 across the 2024 and 2025 seasons and the 2025 offseason. McCalvy I believe already said the Brewers internally consider that $10M to be 2025 money not 2026 money.
  14. Brewers would not consider Grisham a CF anymore. He’s really fallen off defensively. -11 DRS and -3 FRV in CF this year and his sprint speed is all the way down to 32nd percentile over 2 ft/sec lower than in his gold glove seasons.
  15. I switched to subscribing through Prime this year and I thought it was much better than the Fanduel app. Only issue I've had is audio occasionally de-syncs and is delayed after commercial breaks.
  16. Yeah McCalvy had a follow up tweet saying they won't hire a new coach. Also in his article about Weeks said that there will be some role changes for the current staff. Just a guess on my part that Erickson could be the guy getting the bump to bench coach.
  17. Yeah there's no chance the Nationals would do that trade. Brewers would probably do it in a heartbeat though. Pena and Pratt are both very good prospects but Wood has 5 years of control and has shown he can be a star in MLB with even more upside. Imagine the lineup you could rock if you traded for Wood. 1. Yelich - DH 2. Chourio - CF/RF 3. Wood - LF 4. Contreras - C 5. Turang - 2B 6. Vaughn - 1B 7. Frelick - CF/RF 8. Durbin - 3B 9. ? - SS
  18. Yeah Misiorowski is definitely safe. He has .109 service time. The lowest the Super 2 cutoff has been since 2009 is 2.116 so it would need to be a crazy outlier low cutoff for him to hit Super 2.
  19. Interesting that they aren't hiring a coach to replace him. I wonder if Erickson gets the bump to bench coach.
  20. Duran isn't really a CF. More of a corner OF. Don't really see the fit for the Brewers there. His offensive profile is aided by playing half his games at Fenway. Loves shooting flyballs the opposite way for XBH off the Green Monster. Plus he's going to get really expensive in Arb 4 in 2027.
  21. I'd say very likely no. MLB is the one who gets us access to the public statcast data. That stuff isn't handled org side. The Brewers will have their own trackman (or something else) cameras set up for private data but if we want public data it would need to come from MLB.
  22. Predictions for him seem to be all over the place. Baseball America predicted 1/$27.5 Kiley predicted 2/$25M Clemens predicted 2/$34M Think we will have a better feel for which way it goes when the Brewers either offer Woodruff a QO or not. Guess we will find out in the next 90-ish minutes.
  23. Manager of the Year if that counts. Other than that nope and honestly don’t think there’s really an argument for any Brewers player to get an award this year.
  24. I couldn’t imagine the corny Manfred Runner being a thing in the playoffs. Much like I couldn’t imagine the NHL doing 3on3 and a shootout in the playoffs. I’m glad both of those leagues have the sense to have rules to make the games shorter in the regular season then get rid of them for the postseason.
