  1. He was warming up earlier so feel like he's healthy
  2. Ashby going today for the 3rd time in 4 days with 27 and 23 pitches in those outings and an up-down in both of them as well. They need to get Murphy another LHP in the pen he can trust because you can't use guys like this.
  3. So later in the game when they bring in a LHP for that pocket of the order you have Vaughn to hit for Frelick. This is a good change.
  4. I don't think it's as big of a deal because Frelick's defense in RF has been pretty lackluster this year. I unfortunately don't think it's much of a dropoff defensively going from this current version of Sal defensively to Bauers. Like Sal's arm just straight up sucks now. His arm strength and max throw are both down 3mph this year. DRS and FRV both view his arm as negative value on the season.
  5. Why does Vaughn need to play everyday? He's clearly still feeling the side effects of his injury against RHP because his bat speed is still down 3mph against RHP.
  6. He's already seeing his playing time get cut. Since the start of the last road trip (10 games), Sal has started 5 games. Him splitting reps against RHP with Vaughn is completely reasonable considering they are hitting RHP at basically the same level.
  7. Frelick - .258/.339/.342 for a .307 wOBA Vaughn - .266/.329/.344 for a .305 wOBA So basically identical production wise against RHP this year. Expected numbers are pretty comparable as well. I do like that they put Frelick ahead of Mitchell though. Now when Cleveland brings in a LHP for that pocket of LHH they can pinch hit Vaughn for Frelick instead of Mitchell which is what they were going earlier this season.
  8. I also don’t understand why he’s being used as a defensive sub. If you’re doing the defensive sub thing, it should definitely be Perkins coming in. I don’t know if Frelick is playing through an injury or what but he’s fallen off hard defensively this year and his arm is worse. Thought he had another pretty weak throw on the run tonight
  9. Murphy’s logic was very bizarre. Basically his gut and Sal being clutch this year but Sal has a 52 wRC+ in high leverage situations on the season.
  10. Megill’s stuff isn’t the best it’s been in his Brewers career but he’s pitching better than he ever has. Just immaculate command right now
  11. William gunshy on the challenges again today. Gasser down 2-0 there on two strikes
  12. Gasser does not appear to have his command today
  13. One thing that makes me feel optimistic is the fact this team is 3rd in MLB in fWAR with some pretty glaring holes on the roster. A couple savvy deadline moves and this could be the best roster we've had during this era of Brewers baseball.
  14. Brendan Gawlowski mentioned Frias as a player who has his attention when asked about standout or pop ups in the FCL/ACL
  15. I’ll guess 18. He likes the number 9 which isn’t available. 19 also isn’t available. 9x2 is 18.
  16. FYI Dinges hasn’t been catching because he’s been playing through a minor injury.
  17. You’d be wrong again. Eduardo Escobar had a 105 wRC+ and the only reason he made the ASG is because every team is required to have an All Star. Canha had a 104 wRC+ and Santana had a 97 wRC+. These were all the same level hitters.
  18. Not remotely true. Brewers traded for both Canha and Santana in 2023. They were 3rd and 4th in PA on the team post deadline.
  19. I was wondering which one of them was going to get it. Really cool that they both got it.
  20. Yeah I imagine they might try and protect Pratt against some tough RHP like they did for Chourio at the start of his career.
  21. Nobody said it wasn’t impressive for a 19 year old to have a 110 wRC+ in AA. It absolutely is impressive. That doesn't mean he’s remotely ready to be promoted to AAA. A 110 wRC+ is still a 110 wRC+. He clearly is still being relatively challenged at AA. Chourio in 2023 didn’t get promoted to AA until he went on an absolute tear after the tacky ball was removed.
  22. I’d say pretty unlikely. Made hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire in AA. 110 wRC+ on the season coming into today.
