  1. Unless they wanted to get really aggressive with Letson, Timmerman probably makes the most sense.
  2. Surely there will be a pitcher added to Wisconsin right? I only count 4 SP on their roster. Aquino, Fitzpatrick, Cornielle, and Rudy. In addition to only 13 total pitchers.
  3. Yes they used all but $200 of the bonus pool and none of the 5% overage which was around $580K
  4. September roster expansion is just 28 roster spots. It will be a pitcher and a bat because you can only carry 14 pitchers.
  5. I don't think the HBP is what knocked him out of the game. Think that was just a stinger. In the 2nd inning I believe there was a ground ball up the middle that he and Areinamo both were going for and they crashed into each other. He was shaken up. Maybe a concussion?
  6. Pretty brutal AAA debut for Misiorowski. 1+ IP, 0 H, 0 ER (2 runners left on that likely will score), 3 BB, 0 SO, 1 HBP. 38% zone rate and 0 whiffs.
  7. Jarrett Seidler from Baseball Prospectus with a lot of positive things to say about Chourio.
  8. I may not have said it here but I and some others on BCB have thought that Junis was a sneaky DFA candidate at some point. His peripherals since coming off the IL were pretty gross and he rarely ever seemed available to pitch out of the pen. Just seemed like a guy who wouldn't have stuck on the roster as the pitching got healthier.
  9. Counting injured players we currently have 46 players on the 40-man. Miley, Montas, Ross, Sanchez, Adames are likely free agents. Ashby, Bukauskas, Herget, Jay, Paredes, Milner, Payamps, Wilson, Zastryzny, Haase, Capra, Hicklen are potential non-tender/DFA candidates. That leaves about 29 locks for the 40-man in Yelich, Perkins, Mitchell, Frelick, Chourio, Turang, Ortiz, Monasterio, Hoskins (seems likely to opt in), Dunn, Black, Bauers, Quero, Contreras, Woodruff, Williams, Uribe, Rodriguez, Rea, Peralta, Peguero, Myers, Megill, Mears, Koenig, Hudson, Hall, Gasser, Civale as locks
  10. Not having a losing month in over 6 years is actually insane.
  11. I'm sure you can find another free trial. Best buy usually has a 3 month free Apple TV sitting in their online shop
  12. Enderson Mercado's 4 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 SO performance deserves a shout out as well. Also looks like Paul Hoff is now listed as closing out the final 3 innings for DSL Brewers 2 not Guevara. DSL gameday'd.
  13. Pirates are only 6 games back so if they win and the Cards lose they would move into 2nd. We don't have the tiebreaker with the Cardinals but we are 6-1 against them so 1 win in the final 6 games against them would secure the tiebreaker. We are 5-5 against the Pirates so they probably are the more realistic threat especially with their stellar starting pitching. I hope when we play them in the second to last series of the season that it's not a series with playoff implications.
  14. Enderson Mercado having a fantastic beginning of his start today. 3 perfect innings with 8 strikeouts.
  15. Dinges I could see at Carolina although I could also see them just keeping him in Arizona to work on his catching. I think Burke probably goes straight to Wisconsin. You already have a super packed IF in Carolina, so not sure how you can bring in Burke and manage playing time. Bitonti, Adamczewski, Di Turi, Baez, Guilarte are all IF only and in Carolina.
  16. That ball 1 call was especially questionable when you consider what Yoho's strikeout looked like. Those pitches look about as similar as could be.
  17. Should be worth nothing that the pitcher Biloxi is facing tonight is a Top 100 prospect and one of the biggest up arrow pitching prospects in the minors.
  18. Adamczewski seems to very much enjoy hitting pitches down and even below the zone.
  19. Wes Clarke will be an interesting one. He seems like he will have a very limited role in the MLB, but in that role he could be outstanding. He seriously crushes LHP and is atrocious against RHP. Is a power over hit 1B/DH weak side platoon worth protecting when Hoskins will likely be around in 2025? I don't know. Expected slash line vs LHP - .300/.424/.588, .428 xwOBA, 34% whiff rate, 18% BB-rate, 26% K-rate, 44% hard hit hate, 15% barrel rate Expected slash line vs RHP - .211/.300/.392, .304 xwOBA, 44% whiff rate, 46% hard hit rate, 13% barrel rate, 10% BB-rate, 40% K-rate
  20. Juan Baez is back in true form. Just made an out on the bases. Glad to see him healthy and back to full strength haha.
  21. I agree on the Payne part. I think he's a bit underrated and I think some of the scouting reports seem dated on him specifically the ones that call him a slash and dash hitter. The recent videos I have seen of Payne seem like his swing is far more than slash and dash. Plus he's super young for the draft. There were quite a few 1st HS 1st round picks this year that were over a year older than him. Bitonti for example would have been the 4th or 5th (can't remember) youngest HS player drafted through the comp A round if he was in this year's draft and he's now in A-ball. Pratt is 4 days away from being 2 whole years older than Payne and he was drafted last season.
  22. Someone on BCB says Callis said on the MiLB podcast that the Brewers offered 3x slot value to Levonas and he still didn't sign. If that's true then it seems to be they desperately wanted to sign Levonas.
