  1. I'm calling BS on savant's distance on Ernesto's HR. 110.6 EV, 30 LA only going 389ft sounds like a load of crap.
  2. I'd like to see him get moved up to Biloxi soon to see how the bat looks there. He can play pretty well both SS and CF and has above average power. Definitely a guy you'd like to keep in the org if he can go to AA this year and keep the K-rate under 30% and still flash the power/glove combo.
  3. Just say you don't understand what the numbers mean. xBA is just measuring is EV and LA (sprint speed on topped batted balls). It does not factor in what direction you hit the ball. It does not factor in where the defense is positioned. It doesn't factor in backspin/top spin. Just because you don't know what it means and are trying to interpret it as hit probability doesn't mean it's useless.
  4. Also pulled Bauers for a defensive replacement when the game was tied. Collins struck out twice in Bauers spot in the order
  5. Man I hope Travis Smith is okay and the short hook was planned today. I know he was pitching on 4 days rest so maybe it was intentionally short but 31 pitches in 3 innings and getting pulled with the state of the Mudcats pitching staff doesn't feel very intentional.
  6. Peralta isn't an ace, but to answer your question, yes the Brewers should never pay market value for a good SP in FA.
  7. Pretty sure Murphy just in the last couple of days said the hope for both is early July
  8. NL Central also has by far the best run differential of the divisions.
  9. Considering Collins has basically been corner OF Blake Perkins with a better bat, I’ve started to wonder if they might just option Perkins to AAA and let him get a lot of reps there after a long absence. Assuming Mitchell is healthy because then Perkins CF defense isn’t as necessary.
  10. Yeah. Brewers specifically targeted him in a trade and he’s been absolutely lights out flashing really good stuff and now potentially adding a changeup as well. I don’t think we need to worry about this one. He’s going to be added to the 40 before he can elect FA.
  11. It will be interesting to see how they manage Coleman Crow's innings this year. He's already up to 37 IP but he's coming off throwing 24 innings total the last 2 years. He did throw 128 innings in 2022 though. Maybe they can get him to around 100 innings? That would set him up well next year to jump to like 120-140 innings.
  12. Also left the game with a trainer that he called for. Nightmare start to his first pro season.
  13. Big win for the Rattlers after the blown save. Guaranteed a series split over a very tough opponent in Cedar Rapids.
  14. Carolina has had a really rough series. They might be in danger of choking their division lead with only a couple weeks left in the first half.
  15. Coleman Crow is absolutely dealing through 2 innings. Just a dominant 2 innings. 4 K's through 2 whiff a bunch of swing and miss and called strikes.
  16. ACL Brewers got walked off and their losing streak is up to 4. Tough week for them.
  17. Per his instagram, Jayden Dubanewicz is getting promoted to Carolina
  18. It's because he's been elite defensively and has been a roughly league average hitter. He's basically been as valuable as Blake Perkins just in LF with the dropoff in defensive position being countered by being a slightly better hitter.
  19. It’s obviously very early so a lot can change, but so far the DSL class of 2025 is not looking very strong. Any class following the 2024 class was likely going to be a step back so this isn’t all too surprising. That 2024 class might be looked back as one of the best DSL classes ever.
  20. Yeah I’ve seen Rowdy comps because he’s bigger but Rowdy never seemed flabby. I get more Vogelbach vibes from Burke so I hope that he can get into better shape and doesn’t get bigger as he ages into his 20’s.
  21. Some scouts think he's the best player from Venezuela in the IFA class so that's why the high ranking. Personally I just don't read much into the IFA rankings before the guys start playing games. Made and Pena weren't considered great prospects heading into their IFA signings and today both are Top 100 prospects with Made as high as Top 5 and Pena as high as Top 30.
  22. I'm surprised how many Brewers fans I've seen shocked at how good Ashby looked today. He didn't look this good in his first two outings but this is pretty much exactly what he looked like the last 5 weeks of the season last year when he was one of the best relievers in MLB. These were his numbers post being called up in late August: 19.2 IP, 1.37 ERA, 0.78 FIP, 1.70 xFIP, 37% K-rate, 4% BB-rate, 51% GB-rate
  23. Pitching was really good today and Ashby is hopefully out of the doghouse which should boost the bullpen even more.
  24. Tough game so far for the big 4 on Carolina. Combined 1-12 with 5 strikeouts
