Opening Day, not a new national holiday, but it should be

So I am taking Opening Day off again this year like many of you are. From this point forward I am treating Opening Day like a holiday. I mail out cards to all the baseball fans in my family, baseball cards. I mean we mail out cards for practically ever other holiday, why not Opening Day? How many other people are taking the day off?

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I have told people in the past that I will be absent from work/school because I will be at the temple attending a religious observance. If asked I state my religion is Brewish.

I can't call it a "National" holiday when nobody is celebrating at the same time. Two teams last week, a few sunday night, a few more on monday. Definitely like a holiday, just not a national holiday.

I'm taking off Monday afternoon to watch the opener on TV, and Friday for the home opener. I'm a little crazy though - I also take off for most home day games as well.

I am taking Monday afternoon off because it does feel like a religious holiday. I just hope the game is not rained out.

Sadly, I have piano lessons and choir rehearsals I have to lead on Monday from 3:30-8, so I will be missing a large part of the game....if it's raining, that will help me very much.

Same here. I am also always a little sad the day after because there is always no baseball.

I already submitted vacation days for all day games for the season. I had 4 weeks of vacation saved up and spent them well.

edit: I did mean all home day games.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

I will be blessing the chat room with my presence on Friday as I will be working from my downtown office in the morning and watching the game on TV in the afternoon. I'm awesome like that, you know.

I don't have class on Monday afternoon, so I'll be watching it. It was definitely taken into consideration when I was picking my schedule back in November.

I will be in math class. And the teacher will not turn on the game. I'll be taping the game and shutting myself out from the outcome, I guess.

Skipping class to go home and watch. Just me, some EasyMac, and Brewers baseball.

Ahhh...I can't stand this...it's like Christmas Eve!

You should at least burn the easy mac a bit so it is like it is on the grill. 15 hours 39 min left.

Taking the day off and myself and two other friends are starting our tailgate party at 11. Quarter barrell, pack of brats, and a bunch of snacks. Nothing like pretending you are at the game, when you are 300 miles away. Can't wait, I really hope that we get this game in today and get the W.

Took today off, I'll be heading someplace in Walkers point or downtown (most likely either Steny's or BW3's) to watch the game. Hopefully it gets played.

All my friends are calling me and telling me I'm crazy for getting to Miller Park a little after 9 since the lots don't open till 10. They'll end up opening the lots early, right?
