Brett....do you think this is the year the A's finally break through and win a playoff series?

Man, do I hope so. But, I'm not going to get overly confident. Today, I was only able to listen to the game at work, and I got home and ran in from my car with two outs in the 9th and Bartlett up. He promptly hits a single. Then Castillo walks. Then I started getting the nervous shakes a little - it was "here we go again, where's Byrnes when you need him?" But, when Punto swung through that belt-high fastball, I knew Street would get him out.

Brett, I'm kind of confused. Are the A's your "AL team," or do you love them as much as the Brewers? Cause I really like the Twins, but I am no way disappointed right now that they're down 0-2.

I wouldn't say "as much", but I am a huge fan. I catch most of the games during the season on either TV or XM. I follow them quite closely. They are my AL team, but pretty much my only AL team.

Still, I don't have 6000+ posts on any A's message boards. If the Brewers played the A's, I'd pull for the Brewers without thinking about it. I probably wouldn't curse that opponent with as much vitriol as I do, say the Cubs, though.

If your putting together a playoff team which of the four AL starting catchers would you choose? Posada and his post season success and experience? Rodriguez and his 11 gold gloves? Kendall and his .323 post all-star batting average? Mauer and his youth and batting title?

Also, yesterday's Cardinals lineup, with Carpenter on the mound, must have been one of the tallest in postseason baseball history. They went:

Eckstein 5'-7"

Duncan 6'-5"

Pujols 6'-3"

Edmonds 6'-1"

Rolen 6'-4"

Encarnacion 6'-3"

Belliard 5'-8"

Molina 5'-11"

Carpenter 6'-6"

Probably Posada, but not really for the past postseason success, just because he's awesome. Mauer would be second (though first, obviously, if this extended past just this playoffs), Pudge third, and Kendall fourth.

At least you have the Tigers broadcast. XM is running the Yankee broadcasters and boy are they irritating. THEEEEEE Yankees annoy me!

As I type this, A-Rod strikes out in the bottom of the 8th. Judging by the crowd reaction he has made all 24 outs today. Must be a distant Moeller cousin.

Bottom of the 9th, 1 out and a man on first, down by 1:

I don't think he was looking to draw a walk there... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

EDIT: And the evil empire loses. Here's to hoping the Big Unit shows his age tomorrow.

That image is priceless.

The Yankees batters cumulatively left 20 runners on base (7 team LOB, 4 runners in scoring position LOB). Not so clutch hitting, today.

I missed Branyans first at bat, does anyone know what he did?

Seriously guys, I'm only kidding. Big game for the Padres today, hopefully Branyan can do something positive for the team today.

You know they broadcast the home, road, and ESPN broadcast, right? The ESPN was on 189.

EDIT: In the first round, it seems to be home and ESPN. However, the LCS and WS have home, road, and ESPN announcers.
