"I Kissed a Girl and I Liked it" - Worst song ever?

I despised the Perculator song in college and had completely forgot about it until now.
If we still gave out strikes, that would be worth 2!

It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator. It's time for the Perculator.

THIS, however, makes me want to invent a time machine so I can stop 2 Unlimited's parents from procreating:

While the "My Humps" nomination was a stellar one, and Brittney Spears' "Womanizer" is a solid one, I have to go with that damned Ghostown DJs track from about 10 years ago which featured the worst synth drum beat ever in the history of mankind. I heard Energy 92.7FM in San Francisco play it a couple of years ago, and I called them and said, "I don't know what shallow grave you unearthed that Ghostown DJs track from, but wherever you did please go back and return it and dig a deeper hole so that it may rest in peace and never sees the light of day again."

I was sure, but had to look it up, that there was a song called "I kissed a girl" that was sung by a girl over a decade ago. Sure enough, Jill Sobule. We're even to the point where we're recycling bad ideas.

I don't really even bother ranking horrible songs that are so obviously horrible. They're all the same to me, and rank in a tie for last. It's songs that people give way too much undeserved respect to that I put in my "God Awful" category. Culprit #1= Paul Simon's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.

I know I'm probably in the vast minority about this, but I can't stand Bruce Springsteen's music. Going Down has to be one of the hardest songs to ever listen to.

I'm going down down down down

I'm going down down down down

I'm going down down down down

Etc.

Etc.

UGH!

DougHenrySux...I'm with ya. I can't stand Sprinsteen. I cringe when I hear his voice.

I also agree with the Cotton eyed Joe. How did that become a cool song?

Any songs by U2 (take off your sunglasses you pretentious @&%!) and The Eagles (Desperado in particular).

OK, I gotta defend "My Humps" here. Sure it isn't a great song, but it is somewhat catchy and unique. My major point is that Fergie put out 2 songs on her own that are at least as terrible, if not far worse, and neither "Fergilicious" or "London Bridge" were mentioned in this thread.

Beware, my friend. I started a "Am I the only one who hates U2?" post a couple years ago. I got a couple shows of support, but mostly the "How can you not worship the benevolent Bono??!!!" rants. I believe that U2 puts sublimonal "U2 is great" messages in their music that you and I just can't hear.

If it's of any comfort, I think U2 is OK, but I don't worship them like gods or anything.

I just looked it up, and Tesla also released a Love Song in 1989, just like The Cure. It was their biggest hit, topping at #10.
I can see where multiple bands may put out a song with a basic name such as "Love Song", but you're not gonna see many "I Kissed A Girl" titles.

"Love Song" was also a title released by 311 in the '90s and by Sara Bareilles in 2007.

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Desperado and Hotel California make me cringe.

Come on' date=' man. I had a rough night and I hate the [expletive'] Eagles, man!

That was just a cover of The Cure's version.

Really? I hate both bands, but I wouldn't have guessed that.

I just looked up song title "love song" and 311 popped up.

OK, I gotta defend "My Humps" here.

I have never understood 25-40 year old males hating on songs meant for teenage girls -- sure it sucks, but it at least is clear in its target audience.

The Eagles on the other hand clearly suck -- and have made a career out of providing music sure to be heard on the elevator to hell.

Again, I would dare the person that hates "My Humps" to watch this song and tell me they still think My Humps is the worst song ever.

Your selection is simply not good; while I may never hear it again in my lifetime, it doesn't try hard enough to make 'worst song ever.'

To truly transcend, it has to have enough of a hook that people treat it as if it were good. Repeated playing of a bad song makes it worse. 'My Humps' is one of those songs, but it is not the worst offender. There exists one song with the utter genericism to apply to convince a plurality of people that the song applies to them, combined with some of the most vapid, incoherent lyrics ever penned.

That song is, and always has been, "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison.

You my...worst song ever.

Lot's of songs have had lyrics like that! But how can you not love:

"Making love in the green grass, behind the stadium."
