Just lemonade mix-cheap beer-cheap vodka (optional....for added drunken-ness). But, as the mentioned earlier, this concoction should come with a surgeon general caveat: guaranteed to impair you. Very good chance to leave you with nasty hangover.

I generally drink Mountain Dew, but that is bottled in Watertown, so its still WI.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

You must drink Wisconsin beer at Brewer games. I even carry that over to spring training games. A couple years back I waited in a huge line only to be told that they were having problems with their miller tap but they had Bud available. It sucked waiting in another line at the next concession stand.

Is it just me or does it feel wrong to drink anything but Miller in the Miller Park parking lot?

It feels wrong to me to drink Miller Lite anytime, anywhere. My perfect tailgating brew would have to be something like a New Glarus Spotted Cow. A growler or two of the Great Dane's Mallards Ale would actually be great, too. Lord knows some of the Madison BF softball guys have/had an irrational love for that brew! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

My friend wants to bring Bud to our tailgate on Saturday, and I told him to go to Chicago with it.

Ha! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I love that you (perhaps even unintentionally) have now coined the phrase, 'You can go to [Chicago]!'

The Mickey's 40 was a very central part of the tailgate experience through my college years.

Now I like to treat myself to High Life or some New Glarus.

Miller is a South American beer, plus I never liked Miller Lite anyhow. My stand-bys are Coors Light, Schlitz, or Bud Light. Then to mix it up a bit, sprinkle in Land Shark or Michelob Ultra Cactus Lime when it's hot out.

Huber bock.
This was my beer of choice at Beloit College back when you could still get a case of returnable bottles for just over $10, and I drank a lot of it at Brewers' games as well. And well, everywhere. Heck, I even had a keg of it at my wedding reception for old time's sake.

Ever since they dressed the packaging up and raised the price (not to mention selling the brewery to a Canadian guy!), it just doesn't taste as good to me, imagine that!

Apparently this applies to all Midwest Conference campuses. At Ripon, the $9.99 returnable case of Huber Bock or Rhinelander (my personal favorite) was all the rage.

I don't drink for the taste, but rather the medicinal value.

edit: I might have been under the influnce when I wrote the above statement.

Did you guys use the cases as furniture as well?

I sat next to a couple Ripon football players in the bleachers at a Brewers-Cubs game at County in '99...funny guys, one of them was going back-and-forth with a bunch of Cubs fans for a while. Pretty sure I drank a few Hubers that afternoon. Pretty sure they did, too.

Nice to see the Huber love. The Huber (now Minhas) Brewery is a few minutes' walk from my junior high school (now middle school). Insert starting-them-young joke here.

For a few years (after junior high) I dated a son of the then-Huber brewmeister (not Hans Kestler, the real brewmeister). This was around the time Huber made Augsburger, then sold that brand to Stroh, who ran it into the ground. Of course, I squandered countless opportunities by not being an alcohol drinker.

I'm a bit surprised that Minhas has kept Rhinelander on. Mostly I remember people talking about Rhinelander beer with scorn.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I almost wrote something about that! We had an entire room of Rhinelander tables. I used them to pack up my dorm room one year and recently I was at my parents house and saw at least one old Rhinie box in their basement.

I was once at a Cards game at Miller Park and some of their fans were line and asked me where the Bud Lite was...most informed/intelligent baseball fans of all time huh.

Seriously though it has to be Miller Products or Wisconsin brewed products no matter where you are drinking in the world. If you are at some bar in Europe and they have a Bud special and regular priced Miller you better order the Miller and when they ask you why say because you are from Wisconsin.

Appropriate answer: In St. Louis, you should go get some right now.

I generally go with High Life or Icehouse (more %AV). And I absolutely never ever bring a hip flask into the stadium. Because that's wrong.
