Brian: "Rickie's actually been taking just as many pitches per at bat as last year. Maybe even more."

2009: 3.67 P/PA

Good analysis.

Have a bad feeling about the late innings in this one. Should have hung more on Dempster and the Crew's pen is going to cough one up sooner or later.

Hope I'm just being nervous.

I hope Dempster hitting here ends up being one of Sweet Lou's classic managerial mistakes...

K!!!! So far so good.

I'm guessing that HBP was intentional? (no TV or radio here)

It looked like, for some reason, that Braun was squaring to bunt and a slider (or some sort of offspeed pitch) got away from Dempster and was heading right for Braun's face. Braun leaned back and it glanced off of the brim of his batting helmet.

Not intentional and Braun is fine.

The Brewers love the late inning stuff, but they're going to regret all the early LOB.

It sounds like a Cubs crowd tonight. This one doesn't feel good.

This is a game that is going to frustrate me if we lose. Day off on Monday and big divisional foe, no need to let McClung bat when he did and no good reason to give him a long leash this inning.

Stetter should have been brought in a batter earlier.

Edit: Tight zone and McClung isn't known for his control.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I'm confused as to CV here too. DiFelice and Coffey are both fully rested and CV pitched yesterday. This is the first game that has confused me a lot by bullpen usage for Macha. Not that it is mind boggling bad, just not what I would have expected.

Nice job by Stetter and CV to get out of it there.

That ball 3 to Soto was ridiculous.

Looking at the splits, Bradley is about 90 points better batting right handed as opposed to left handed. Leaving McClung in wasn't a bad decision.

That last ball by Villanueva was called a strike earlier in the game. I knew we wouldn't like the plate umpire.

Interesting choice with CV there, but it works out. Nice 3-2 (and 2-2) changeups.

Dodged a major bullet there. More runs please!

I'm glad CV got the out there but why isn't Macha using Difelice in these type of situations?

The guy is very tough on right handers and he doesn't walk anyone.

Crawford has been horrible behind the plate tonight.

There is no way he does that with the old stance, but I still miss it. lol

I think this may be the worst strike zone we've seen all year, for both teams.

Seems like the Brewers are doing a decent job getting into hitters' counts, but they're not capitalizing on the meaty 3-1, 2-0 pitches.
