Wins like the last two days are huge... at some point we will be healthy and score runs and go on a ridiculous tear

I can't even begin to describe how impressed I am that this team (and in particular Garza himself) overcame a 3 run, 40 pitch first inning from Garza.

Between being short handed and in a mini funk they did a great job snapping both. The team did such a nice job building a good sized lead that they just needed to prevent a tail spin and they can keep this thing going all summer.

Today's win feels great. Nice to have a day off tomorrow. If Gomez is dinged up a little, the suspension might not be the end of the world (though the timing is horrible in other ways).

Getting Braun back in the lineup will be huge. Rickie was great offensively today (and all series). Scratching and clawing out wins in true "gritty" fashion.

I'm just going to point out that the 5th run we scored (in the 6th) was 100% due to the contact play being on. This means that we have another 15 times or so that it DOESN'T work before the stats actually start to even out.

In other words, the contact play is a good thing. It rarely has to work in order for the numbers to work out.

Could you walk through this logic? I'm not trying to argue or call you out, I just need help understanding how one score is equal to fifteen outs on the basepaths. What am I not adding to the calculation?
