So glad our pitchers get to hit. Guerra hasn't been the same since his injury. Now Anderson. Both as hitters. Sucks.

Pitchers are so brittle these days. Im sure we could all day as to why, but regardless, its time for the DH. 13 man pitching staffs and guys getting hurt just swinging the bat or running to first base is not good for the game.

They aren't going to bring up Burnes.

Jungmann?

Jungmann is a possibility, has been doing well in CS and is on the 40-man already. Woodruff would be the #1 candidate if he wasn't on the DL. If they don't want to call up a starter, there's Espino, Suter and Hader already in the bullpen who have all started this season.

Oblique. Let the Corbin Burnes era begin.

Yah, that isn't happening. Unfortunately not even Woodruff era.

They aren't going to throw in the towel with some fringe major league arm. Hader or Burnes will be starting on Monday.

Burnes isn't on the 40 and won't need to add him to the 40 for several years. The only way they would add burnes this year or next is if he wins a starting pitching spot out of spring or is getting one for the remainder of the year when he is clearly the most deserving of it.

For this year, with woodruff likely to get first crack whenever he comes back, the possibility (likelihood I hope) of hader going back to starting and the likes of jungman, blazek, Wilkerson, and even bubba derby or others ready to get their shot (or second/third chance), I see the chance of burnes coming up now at 0%.

If he continues to amaze through this year in AA and starts great next year in AAA, I could see him coming up in this situation next year for a long term injury or performance replacement.

The percentage of position players that get hurt simply swinging a bat or taking a step out of the box is incredibly low compared to pitchers. The rules aren't the problem, it's the pitchers.

the issue is the pitchers don't get the reps they need to hit competently so they are doing something they aren't really trained at and using muscles they don't normally use. It is insane that the NL hasn't moved to the DH. It causes dozens of injuries every year and puts the AL at a distinct advantage.

Unlikely Broxton, Vogt with a big league at bat there. Wish it would've paid off.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
