"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

He had more charisma than Guttenberg.

Gosh darned Stonecutters.

"I don't want your liefffe!" - Jon Moxon

Fun fact: James Vanderbeek was originally supposed to wear #13 in this movie, but requested that his number be switched to #4 (and Paul Walker's to #7) in honor of his favorite player, Brett Favre, and the way Favre began his Packer career by taking over for an injured Don Majkowski. Vanderbeek still is a big Packer fan.

Unless I'm doing this wrong, we are at 3 over both the Cardinals and Rockies who are tied in the loss column. A win tomorrow would get our Magic Number down to 1. If we win one more game in this series, the best the cardinals can do is tie us.

Winning one of the next two would be huge because it would give us the season series and the tie breaker for hosting the wild card game between us and the cards.

Im really torn. I want them to sweep the cards, but I'm going to the game Saturday and I would love for that to be a clinch game. Part of me, in fact most of me, wants the drama out of the way as soon as possible though

Saturday could be a division clinch game. Shoot for the moon! ;)

I don't think that'll happen. The Pirates would have to take at least 3 of 4 from the Cubs for that to be a possibility, which I think can happen and also the Cards taking 2 of 3 from them this weekend. Who knows, bit I think it will come down to the last game.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Curtis Leskanic * Franklin Stubbs is somehow a beautifully apt picture(s) for this type of clincher... Now when this team ascends beyond this milquetoast mildstone...
