2018-09-18: Reds (Lorenzen) at Brewers (Anderson) 6:40 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 3-1]

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Welp, it's getting late now. The bats gotta wake up. Offense has been pretty dang pathetic so far tonight. Bullpen has done yeoman's work yet again to keep it close.

[bucks2281]

Come on guys, it’s Sal Romano

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Looking at strike 3. C'mon Perez. Swing the bat!

[TooLiveBrew]

Have they said why Cain got pulled?

I'm at the game...

No update on the broadcast yet, but Cool Hand Lucroy posted this earlier:

Does Cain look hurt to anyone else? Looked like he tweaked his back early yestetday, and his swings tonight look pretty defensive....

[TooLiveBrew]

Heyyyy! Aguilar single - let's get something going!

[TURBO]

Or, why not bring in Arcia at SS and move Schoop back to 2B when Shaw went out. Hard to believe I'd want Arcia in, but he has been a lot better recently.

I'm, just not fond of Perez or Broxton getting at bats when we desperately need offense.

Is saving Santana and Braun to pinch hit a better plan than sending them in the game for multiple at bats over Broxton?

Ok, I'll leave it alone now, just don't like the moves made on the offensive side tonight.

[TURBO]

How about a dinger? Someone, please?

[young guns]

I can't believe Dan Jennings has a 3.16 ERA. It seems like he's been slapped around a lot this year. He has to have let a lot of inherited runners score.

Amazingly only 14 of his 44 inherited runners have scored. Would have thought much higher.

[TooLiveBrew]

Or a made-to-order, room service ground ball double play

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Man, offense is just painful tonight.

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

How about a dinger? Someone, please?

That is the only way they are going to get going tonight. Seem pretty disinterested in showing patience at the plate and manufacturing runs.

[82brewcrew82]

Good grief this team is frustrating. Just when you think they've figured it out they get dominated by teams that are basically eliminated. This team is just missing something.

[Bulldogboy]

Why is Broxton in the game and Santana on the bench? Man. Perez and Broxton in a game we need is brutal.

[Fear The Chorizo]

I would imagine Santana should be grabbing a bat next inning.

Sure would be nice to find a way to win this one tonight - get a few guys on and make it interesting, at least.

[Bulldogboy]

Now Barnes to keep it close? Ok.

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Jacob Barnes finds his way into another key game. Barnes, who's been lit up like a match most of the year. While Guerra, who has looked utterly dominant in relief, watches.

[Fear The Chorizo]

Perez has really been struggling - would have much rather preferred Arcia entering the game to play SS after Shaw's removal, actually.

[TURBO]

Too bad Granderson doesn't have a cannon, he'd have gotten him...

[Eye Black]

Why are they challenging that call?

[Baldkin]

Too bad Granderson doesn't have a cannon, he'd have gotten him...

Or if he actually plays the ball to throw it back in instead of being lazy and not taking the extra two steps

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Too bad Granderson doesn't have a cannon, he'd have gotten him...

Domingo probably gets him there. He's not a great fielder, but has that cannon in RF. Why Granderson isn't in left right now, with Yelich in center, is a great question.

[shanedog19]

Cardinals and Cubs both winning, this isn’t good.

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Cubs out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st. Because of course they are.

[82brewcrew82]

Cardinals and Cubs both winning, this isn’t good.

Beating good teams too. Meanwhile, the Pirates and Reds.............

[Fear The Chorizo]

Cubs out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st. Because of course they are.

Dbacks haven't been interested for weeks - although I think Montgomery is pitching...I had this one pegged for a lot of runs for both teams.

Not sure which is actually worse after what is shaping up to be a Brewer loss unless they wake up - falling another game behind the Cubs or, should they also lose, missing an opportunity to make up ground on them while playing the Reds at home.
