Really felt like Supak had earned the opportunity to get the ball today. You have to wonder how much they think of him when the stars are aligned perfectly for him to get the start, he's already on the 40, and they literally picked a very weak pen over him getting the chance today.

In any event, let's get that sweep.

I'm a bit surprised, it certainly is possible they think so highly of him...that they want to limit his service time and call him up in late May next year? That's probably not the case, but who knows.

I'm a bit surprised it's a night game today. I expected a noon game. It doesn't really matter for us as tomorrow is an off day, just a bit surprised. Has anyone heard a report from CC if Hader will be available today? 28 pitches on Monday, I think he'd probably be available today unless they specifically want to give him a long rest.

“Lou Brown: We won a game yesterday, if we win one today that's two in a row. If we win one tomorrow that's called a winning streak. It has happened before. SO LET'S SEE SOME HUSTLE!”

This would’ve fit better yesterday, but sentiment remains the same. Let’s go boys!!

I suppose it's still possible to call up Supak, but it'd probably mean optioning Faria.

I think they have enough available arms in the pen to get through today (D Williams not pictured in the graphic, but sure to factor into today's game). Especially if they lose and only need to cover 8 innings lol

I assume they can get through the game with Pomeranz, Williams, Jeffress, Claudio, Guerra, Hader, and maybe Freddy. 6-7 guys for 9 innings.

Yes, but at least half those options sound terrible.

Thanks for posting the graphic. I think it's going to be very tough to navigate unless at least 2 of those guys have solid outings and can pitch 2+ innings. I would think normally the best optiosn for that would be Hader/Peralta...but both had big outings 2 days ago. It will be interesting to see how CC tries to navigate this one.

I think finding a way to bring Burch Smith up today would be a good idea. He lasted pitched 8/1 and has been starting in the minors. He could eat innings. Maybe send Freddy down, or Faria back down, or Williams I suppose though that would be weird.

He only has two AAA starts under his belt. Maybe they don't want him to have a bad outing knowing that he would then be sent down right away. Keep his confidence up.

I thought they might just call up Supak and then option him back immediately since they have off days Thursday, Monday and next Thursday. However, I can see why they wouldn't want to keep a bullpen guy like Faria/Williams/Peralta down for 10 days and be forced to call up an inferior bullpen guy for that time period.

I suppose too knowing they have tomorrow they know they can empty everyone in the pen today and not have anything to worry about tomorrow.

At this point, the Brewers must be lying about Yelich right? Lineup below.

Grisham LF

Grandal

Moose

Hiura

Thames

Braun RF

Gamel CF

Arcia

Pomeranz

Lying? They said he back was acting up, and that they were trying to stay on top of it so it doesn't get worse.

I guess I'll rephrase and say Christian was lying...also I wasn't being overly serious. I'm sure it's just an abundance of caution. Need to keep him healthy for that October run...

They said he was healthy on the broadcast last night too. CC even had some snarky comment about how he had 4 hits because a day off was coming.

If yelich and Cain are both injured. Does this mean we're having a bullpen day and the only 2 pinch hitters are Shaw and Pina?
Posted

Kinda sucks to have a national TV game and no yelich and a bullpen game, but oh well.

This is another reason why "upstart" teams like the Brewers don't often get on sunday night baseball. This national TV game is kinda looking like a dud.

I suspect Yelich could PH if needed, but I'm guessing we'll use Shaw/Pina first. There's also a chance there's a roster move before the game...though that's getting less and less likely.

Supak must not be ready. There isn't a more perfect time for him to get a one-off spot start to get his feet wet. He is needed, it's on the road, he's on the roster (already used his option), he's pitched well all year... I don't get it.
