2019-08-13: Twins (Pérez) at Brewers (Anderson) [Brewers lose, 7-5 -- Grandal hits go ahead 3-run HR in 7th; Hader serves up first pitch 3-run HR in 8th]

If you think that is where Hader meant the pitch to be you are living in la la land. That pitch wasn't within 5 feet of where it was mean to be. His control is just completely gone at this point.

I never said it was. Of course it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Low fastballs are literally the only thing Gonzalez hits well, and Hader put it in his bread basket. I just don't understand how so many pitchers on one staff suddenly lose their command.

The weird part is go back and rewind to the HR. That pitch hit exactly where Pina put the glove. He maybe moved his glove down 2 inches to catch it, but essentially that is where he set the target. To say it missed by 5 feet is totally off. You don’t put the target somewhere you don’t want the pitch.

Ryan Braun drag bunting with two outs and no one on base in the 8th inning with a 2-run deficit.

Was he supposed to hit a bases empty 2-run homer? Crap bunt but he was trying to get a runner on to bring the tying run to the plate. Not too hard to follow there.

I liked it. A few of these other free swingers should take note.

If that's the case ... that's horrible pitch selection. That is the one spot where Gonzalez's power is as a RH batter.

What would you guess the success rate of such an attempt to be for someone with Ryan Braun’s present day speed? I would guess it’s much, much lower than swinging for a base hit.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

If he lays down a good bunt? Probably pretty decent.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It depends on where the defense is. If they are way back you really don’t need to be fast. Problem is you can’t bunt it back to the pitcher

Harder needs to throw the slider more. I know it is far from a plus pitch for him, but when a major league hitter sits on a fastball in a specific location it will get smoked. It's not that hard honestly.

A hitter knows 3 out of 4 pitches a fastball is coming. 1 of 4 zones to sit on. Guess right and that no movement fastball gets turned around quick

Hader 0328-0412: 9 IP, 0 ER

Hader 0415-0430: 5.2 IP, 6 ER

Hader 0503-0726: 36 IP, 6 ER

Hader 0730-0816: 5 IP, 6 ER

Josh had a rough patch similar to his current one early in the season & bounced back just fine.

Some all time classic IGT overreactions here.

Has Hader been terrible for his last 5 IP? Clearly.

Does that mean the league figured him out, he will never recover & we should gave traded him at the deadline? Hardly.

This team is just not good. Period. I don’t care if they win tonight. The absolute worst pitching staff of contenders. Who can you rely on onnoffense other than Yelich? This an inconsistent .500 team.

WC2 will likely be one of six inconsistent .500 teams

How does Braun not call Moustakas off and bust his ass to get that ball?

Braun has been jogging after balls for the most part the past few months ... it's terrible ... it's nothing new, though.

How does 3rd baseman cover more ground and get to that before Braun.

He's a pretty bad outfielder at this point in his career. But we don't have a DH.

He is throwing BP out there man. This is not about the ER.

And I would feel much better in that game and th next series with any pitching staff other than the Brewers.

OMG, that is Braun's ball all the way. Shoddy.

That might have been the most ridiculous play of the game today, which is saying something. Braun just gave up on the ball 25 feet from where it landed to let Moustakas try to twist around and catch it.
