At this rate, assuming he can keep it up, Gio's going to throw a 165-pitch no-hitter with at least 12 walks. 34 balls vs. 22 strikes after 3. Good heavens!

Verlander with a no-no and 13 k's through 8 innings, but the Astros haven't scored either.

But they took Verlander out??

No, he finished the no hitter.

Hey ... a sacrifice with RISP. How about that!

Technically not a sacrifice.

Gonzalez has been awful and is damn lucky he was gifted that 3-0 strike several inches off the plate.

No kidding. Annoying that the zone changes on 3-0 so often.

Now the Cubs fan bring in a bum lefty to shut down the Brewers lefty lineup.

I know people said one of the good things about Grisham was his discipline at the plate. It seems to me like he takes too many strikes. Maybe his approach won’t work as well with major league pitchers who are better at hitting corners.

Or maybe he just needs time to adjust since, you know, he is a rookie with fewer than 100 major league ABs who was in AA to start the year.

This all-strikeout offense we have is worse than the pitching. That was an utterly rare RBI w/ RISP, but it still came with an out (on the first pitch, no less -- nice plate approach, Mr. Arcia).

Can we have a DH for the shortstop? In 41 games since the break, Arcia has 24 hits including a whopping 3 for extra bases (.190 BA, .515 OPS).

I see some Brewers fans here and there in the crowd. Maybe they should call it Miller Park South now.?? get it?

Between "Wrigley North" and throwing visitor HRs back onto the field, I've got no interest in mimicking lame Cub traditions.
