I wouldn’t worry about Peralta, I’d say he’s been lights out now for some time.

5 innings. It's been 5 innings since the end of his last really bad stretch.

I like Peralta a lot. When he's right, he can be as good as anyone in that pen. But he looked like he was emerging as a late inning option in July for a stretch and then regressed very badly to the point where we had to send him back down. He's starting to put it together again, but let's give it some time.

Sure thing.

I admit, there’s still a couple of butterflies in the gut when Freddy comes in. But, he seems different now, like something clicked for him in AAA, cause he’s been unreal since the call-up.

Great piece of hitting by the "terrible" Trent Grisham.

Are people really calling him terrible?

Brewcrewin07 popped into the game thread yesterday for the first time in a month just to tell us how terrible Grisham is, and then bailed.

I'm definitely excited about the possibility of having all of Hader, Peralta, and Pomeranz all clicking this time of year.

Sure would be nice to continue to get outings like this from Freddie here on out.

I hope they keep him in the pen from here on out.

I don't think I've ever been as wrong about any player as I have been about Drew Pomeranz. I thought that was going to be an absolute nothing acquisition, but he's been terrific for us. We don't go on this season changing run in September if we didn't find other options to help out Hader in the pen.

Will Pomeranz return in 2020?

Stearns did the right thing this year. He went scrap heap pickups without giving up anything (unless you loved Dubon). And it’s worked out so far

I thought PomPom would have a nice impact, but didn’t really think Lyles would be much of a meaningful starter. Glad I had half wrong on the right side of that.

Oddly enough I may have been most optimistic about adding Faria. He's been a total dud in limited opportunities though.

I would have to think resigning Pomeranz with the new rules next year is a must and non-tendering Claudio as the other side. I'll join the "i was wrong" crowd about Pomeranz. To me, Lyles discovered something last year and just had a horrific month before we got him back this year.

Black is a useful pitcher right now, as long as we keep him away from high leverage situations like last Sunday. Maybe some day with this guy it’ll just click. Good pick-up for next year though. I’ll take the potential ceiling of Black over the high floor of Dubon.

I think I was too. I totally forgot he was on the team.
