Did you really think that was a legitimate scoring threat with the 8 and 9 hitters coming up?
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Just a classic example of how awful the MLB product is right now.

Classic contact situation--2nd and 3rd, 1 out--and there's only a handful of hitters in all of MLB who could be counted on to get the run in there.

If only these scrubs would learn to hit 98 with 90 mph sliders.

+1....it's pretty much league wide.

I don’t know if the shift really works, statistically, but it sure makes me nervous every time the Brewers deploy it. Which seems to be often.

Lets not forget you have to swing at those 90 mph slides when they are within 6" of the strikezone because the human umpires will randomly call them strikes about a third of the time.

Someone want to tell Lepay that Woodruff is NOT one of the hardest throwers in the majors.

I doubt he is in the top 15.

I'm having trouble finding stats, but I recall seeing stats shown on TV broadcasts that among starting pitchers he's in the top five.

He has run his fastball up over 99 mph on occasion in just about every start he’s had this year, that’s got to be near the top of the max velocity leaderboard for starters.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

No kidding , can't imagine trying to hit that heat. But still, professional hitting is just lacking . Not just our team but everybody. Whatever happened to choking up and protect the plate , moving guys over. It's either strikeout or homerun lately.

With almost every pitcher hitting 95-99 , you would think these guys would try different ways of making contact other than swinging for the fences.
