Bucks 2020-2021 season thread

Well, we shot like crap again and won. So it still feels like we stole one, but we're alive. I'd like to think we have one easy win in us where we score 130.

I don't know how I Feel about this team going into game 4. They won the game. They have a chance to tie this thing up, at home. BUt man, they need a game plan. They need some scoring from someone other than Giannis and MIddleton. New Jersey is a BAD defensive team and we have gone three games in a row, simply unable to put the ball in the hoop.

 

Gotta come out game 4 ready to play.

If they just needed someone to chuck up bad shots, I could have done that for a heck of a lot cheaper. Since when does Brooklyn have a great defense?

They don't have a great defense. The Bucks have had plenty of looks in this series. It's mystifying.

Bucks are very fortunate to have a game in this series. They've played about as poorly as a playoff team can.

That was godawful but a win is a win, especially in a must-win game. They made enough plays...barely, and gave themselves a chance to get back in the series. I plan to block out this one from my memory.

You would think that given the playoff experience they have over the course of the past few seasons they'd play much better basketball than they have, especially Giannis. If anything, they've regressed. All of the sudden those max contracts don't look too good.

Giannis had 33 and 14 last night. He's not a shooter, he needs to stop launching 3s, and the FTs are a major problem, but he's fine. If Middleton hadn't shown up, they'd have lost by 30 again. They are getting nothing from anybody not named Giannis. Somebody, anybody, has to step up and do something of note in this series for them to have a chance. They need the unheralded player stepping up, the Fred VanVleet or Blake Griffin.

This "let Giannis do it all" offensive strategy is killing this team. Nobody else even has an identity beside being "not Giannis". The other four exist to just clean up his mess rather than Giannis being the catalyst to everybody else doing well. If Giannis is getting 6' of space at the 3pt line, Forbes should be sprinting around to get a screen from Giannis and make the shot. If the other team collapses on Giannis in the paint, Portis should be nearby to get the ball undefended or Middleton to make a high-percentage mid-range shot.

Last night was one of the worst NBA games I've ever watched. Just Iso ball all game, no shots falling, no ball movement. Ugly and unwatchable garbage. Giannis needs to stop launching threes, and the Bucks need to stop running Iso plays for him in the halfcourt sets. Watching him dribble back and forth from the top of the key while everyone else stands around and waits for him to drive into a wall is excruciating. He can push the ball and control the action on fast breaks, but in half court offense, let Khris or Jrue initiate the offensive sets. Giannis should be catching the ball in the low post or near the free throw line so the defense collapses on him and he can find open shooters.

Giannis needs to be willing to set screens to make that happen. He isn't. He still ducks them, sets them in the wrong spots and at the wrong angles and has no idea where to go on the roll if he actually does set a good screen on someone.

So I guess the Bucks need to hire a bodyguard to off-set theirs? That's some smelly bull manure that some dude not involved in the game gets to rush the court and almost tackle one of the Bucks players. I get keeping KD safe from crazy fans but interfering with on court players is entirely uncalled for.

Looks like it was his personal body guard who is on the Nets payroll. Not sure why he’s allowed to rush the court and push a player in the back.

Only the games in Milwaukee. He can work their home games but can’t go onto the court.

Well they've had three games now to figure out why they've stunk so bad. The biggest knock on Budenholzer is that he'd never made adjustments, so I guess this is his chance to prove otherwise.
