Come on.. one more!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Duff man ruins everything
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Congrats burnes

That is insane

One day we are going to have to get into a discussion these teams completely dumping their whole team at trade deadline. Does this hurt the integrity of the competition. Teams like the Cubs and pirates are not really major league teams

The guys on MLB network nailed it - they said the Cubs would come up swinging trying to ambush the first pitch strike. That's what Duffy did. They said he should have stuck to the slider off the plate.

He still has a shot at Clemens and The Big Unit.

I think the oncoming storm will have an influence on that.

Approaching far western suburbs, about an hour out.

Darn it. Really wanted the record breaker.

Did the others get them all swinging? All 10 for Burnes were swinging. He may have the record for most consecutive swinging.

It's a real question given what we have seen from the big three who should be getting the ball in game one of the playoffs. All three have been so dominant at times it's really a difficult decision. I can't believe we have gone from Chacin being our ace in the nlcs to this.

I think Burnes should be pulled, actually. He’s not hurt and the game is over half over. Huge lead.

We did give up like 8 late inning runs to the Giants twice last weekend. Cubs are not the Giants but Burnes is breezing let him go 6.
